My first calamity playthrough was after I'd beaten the base game 2 times and I had about 200 hours . I beat it at revengeance with the ranger class , it was suuuuper fun and I loved it . I will never forget Providence .... 39 attempts and a lot of death

Death mode is pretty doable. Ive done a melee class and magic class playtrough. Rn im doing a summoner class playtrough, since i barely use summons. (I like doing class runs, instead of using the best weapons available, or combining classes)

Get the rusty beacon prototype as soon as you can, it literally shreds every single pre hard mode boss except for slime god. Also use dank staff until you kill skeletron prime bc it’s busted

Calamity bosses and what is similar: D.O.G = cosmic destroyer. Polterghast = dead plantera Hive mind = corruption brain of chthulu Peforators = eater of worlds but crimson Slime god = every slime boss in modded terraria with a core that was removed as part of the boss fight making it just 2 slime bosses in one... Or just some slime god wannabe. Cal clone and S-cal = just an eye boss but with 3 of them. Edit: I forgor one: providence = every butterfly boss ever.

Ive got a small problem with terraria. I had it years back on mobile(still am), and I was fairly decent for a 10yr old. I'd beaten plantera and that's as far as I'd gotten I've recently got it again, and after 2 weeks of having it I've got 69 hrs, and I'm already about to fight moon lord. I've gotten terra spark boots, a fully terraformed world, the hand of creation, and almost the shell-phone There's no way in hell I don't have an addiction to this game

I am a resident terraria pro, and probably have more hours than him, ive beaten master, expert and normal as mage, and expert with ranger and melee (yes i generally like mage) and a while ago i finally played the calamity mod. Though, two main differences werer that i had no help besides the wiki and i played in revengeance (yes my first playthrough is in revengeance). I honestly loved it. most of the things in the mod are at least connected to vanilla stuff, but different in thier own way. like the nights ray crafting tree, it is a mage equivelant to the terra blade crafting tree, and it continues. or the nuclear fury, which is like the razorblade typhoon on drugs. the difficulty has seemed mostly balanced (except the DOG... fuck the DOG) and follows a similar progression philosophy as the base game (you feel op, then upon reaching the next phase of the game you feel powerless.). I genuinely love the bosses' gameplay (i enjoy the bullet hells) as they don't feel too similar to the base bosses but also not too different. They each have new challenges to get past and new skills to learn, but it all seems balanced. For any terraria player, you have to play calamity, you (maybe) wont regret it.
