I thought I was going crazy until I saw his Ratchetdemic speech today at the AP Annual Conference. Good to know there are other educators who approach pedagogy from a cultural and socioeconomic perspective in such a passionate manner. God speed brother, and I hope to bring you to my district in the near future!

Given where I currently am in my career, this is EXACTLY what I needed to hear to keep pushing. I just CANNOT give up on my babies (my students). People always look at me crazy when I say I refuse to teach anywhere except in the hood. They need someone that will believe in them! That person is, has been, and will always be ME!

I'm loving this 😍 I am here for this!!! I identify with this word and idea!!! I 've been looking for a word to identify me in academics, both as a student and a librarian 🥰🥰🥰 Let's get it!

On the subject of rainbows, I like to bring a prism to the inner city schools where I work and pop a spectrum out of thin air for exactly the poetic reason you described. It doesn't matter where it happens; beauty and wonder are not localized phenomena.

Amazing speech. Cultural agnosia. We must break the idea that being intellectual is not mutually exclusive to being “hip, cool, with it, modern.”

It's all about the rules of engagement. People need to heard that over and over.

David Givens ~~ Agreed. Teachers need to be charismatic and prepared to entertain while they teach or they(the kids) will drain them. This is not a new concept.

@@TheSpaLife69 I agree with you and David Givens. My question to you both is this. Does a white educator have the ability to become Ratchetdemic?
@desnamjp2 жыл бұрын
@@alexnovak4415 ratchetdemic is a term for the students not the educators.
