When you're loping do you keep your outside leg back (continue pushing his hip) once he picks up the lope/during the time you're loping or do you push his hip in, ask for the lope and the move your outside leg back by the front cinch?

I just give the cue, then bring my legs back to center after I achieve the desired result. 👍

@zacharias.horsemanship thanks for clarifying! I've been keeping my leg back when I lope, and I just recently started wondering if I was supposed to keep my leg back while loping or not.

The muscle gained so far an this horse is impressive. Bosals are wonderful starting tools. Old style California cowboys use them extensively. Some horses move all the way up to the Spade, some are so sensitive, they stay in the Bosal forever.

This is so fascinating to watch! You work beautifully with him. Curious, do you always use spurs when training? Do you find it speeds up their learning? What do you find most helpful with them? I've gone back and forth, and it's a bit crazy to figure out with all the extreme opinions out there. Also, do you ever teach video lessons? I'd love to keep you referenced as I continue to better my horsemanship. Thanks!
