@Synthetic-Chicken
@Synthetic-Chicken 3 жыл бұрын
@@jesterking1 Its a risk he took, its a risk anyone takes when getting in any car really. I was taught how to control a car in a powerslide/skid before I knew how to drive and it served me well I think. All good and well knowing how to "drive" its a different thing being able to control an out of control car though.
@jesterking1
@jesterking1 3 жыл бұрын
@@Synthetic-Chicken I think you miss the point really... I'm not saying don't teach her in your car that you use in comps. I am saying, maybe don't do it the day before a competition when you really need it to work properly. Do it the day after when you have time to repair things if they break. Most people would say "Yeah, I really want to do well tomorrow, and I don't want to deal with a broken car. Lets mitigate that risk by just not using it to teach my wife, who has a few minutes in a car seat, how to do doughnuts." Just doesn't seem all that logical. But he, to each their own.

Firstly it’s not a how to drive video it’s how to DRIFT, second of all she doesn’t even DRIVE and he’s teaching her to DRIFT already, thirdly HE is the one who grabbed the steering wheel out of no where trying to be dominant when she is clearly not used to driving and caused the incident, also she said she doesn’t even know how the wheel works and he’s shouting about under and over steering

May did so well! The crash at the end was totally your fault btw 😂 You should tell her to take her foot of the clutch and to leave it there as soon as it starts rolling; then push the gas. A lot of people confuse taking the foot off the clutch in one motion without realizing the relationship with the gas. I also like to tell people that the brake never stops working, it might stall the car sure but it seems to instill more confidence. Saying you have to push in the clutch in order for the brakes to work creates a mental barrier for someone learning.

Sam, I think the perfect person to teach Mai to drift is Oka-chan. He has been coaching you perfectly, & would probably consider it a compliment. There is also the fact that anything said during the lessons would be teacher to student, not husband to wife. Yes, I think Mai did brilliantly, but I think she was 'diving in the deep end', as it where, rather than 'getting her feet wet'. Maybe rent Oka-chan's training car.I'm glad it was only light damage.
