My friend ran a good sized body shop in Illinois in the 90's. He got so tired of all states tactics, especially thier refusal to pay for factory sheetmetal, that he would call the agent on speaker phone with their mutual customer listening. If you want to be upset, look up blackstone, who owns all state. You can read about their stock market, real estate, government and more manipulations. Just some poor little rich kids needing some more money.

Thanks for the lesson Robbie. I've never been formally trained but I've been doing backyard body work for over forty years on my projects. I used to be real bad at it but I've gotten a lot better by talking to professionals, buying better tools like a stud puller and attending KZbin University. The problem now is, at my age, I don't want to do that crap anymore. It's tedious, filthy and my back doesn't like it either!

As a young SPC in Army I had a old SGt showing me how to do body repair on a damaged Humvee hood the corner was smashed. The Army's fix was if damaged enough just replace it if not there was fuel tank repair kits and sand paper then hit it with CARC paint. His off duty hobby was classic cars and wasn't having a crap show job of a repair on owr company commanders / 1SGT truck. I was a functional repair guy "If it works as intended it's good." I have seen how much work and time it takes to do a good or great job and the right knowledge, tools materials. Some of it I didn't have or want to buy let alone have the funds to buy.

People watched pulling a dent because this is what you know that we don’t. I can’t speak for all your audience, but goofing around without any substance isn’t going to bring me back for more. You have skills and some pretty cool equipment, share them. Show what it takes to start and run a body shop. You have done some, your audience will grow if you do more.

Dang dudes! That key bridge dent puller is next level. Memories of drilling holes and using a slide hammer to get big dents out. 😂 Progress at its finest, for the finest. Amazing work by all of you! Try a “Surfoam” file to knock off body filler while it’s still a little green to help smooth it quicker. As soon as your fingernail will leave a line, then go at it! 🙏❤️😎🤙🛻💨

Great video!! I was in the Automotive industry for almost 30 years ordering the parts on Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge vehicles for the majority of those years I think that a great bodyman or woman are like artist with some of the work they can do with bent sheetmetal. You can always tell how good they are by how much body filler they use & it's wild how precise & sensitive their feel is with things you can't see!

Body-man does not always prime, so the 11 hours actually stopped earlier right after you filled your pinholes. You were already into the paint time, unless you get prime and block time from the Mitchell Manual P Pages. Not many people do.
@jasonholt8321
@jasonholt8321 4 ай бұрын
The shop I'm at we use CCC and add 0.3 hour featheredge/prime and block per hour of repair up to a point. I'm not sure what the cutoff is, kinda like clear coat being capped at 2.5 hours total. That 0.3 for prime and block is categorized under paint time so it goes to the painter and accounts for materials.

Full coverage both ways and took two months to pay for the total car. But still dealing with the rental cars. They provided both of the cars and were getting bills . Crazy! I wonder is insurance just getting more whacked out or is this normal?
