Love the lesson! I specifically appreciate that the two who stepped up to sing at the end were boys - heck yeah! Regarding rhythm parts, have you thought of using beatboxing in that regard? As an upcoming educator and a competitive beatboxer, I've used it in classes for percussion and rhythmic purposes, and students have loved it (from what I can tell!). It's a particularly great means of getting students to intonate rhythm. Again, great lesson! Learned a lot by watching it.

HELP!!!-General Music and Choir teacher is out for a while and I’m doing her classes..so you have any basic general music videos for 7th and 8th grade students..Or any suggestions

I also have a number of videos on 7th grade music. Look at the Out in the Field With MLT playlist. Good luck!

Your teaching is excellent. However I notice your class size is very small. I have classes of 32 children . I am an instrumental teacher and am employed to teach whole classes for 1 hour. One school ukulele one school descant recorder and finally one school on trumpet. Discipline is a major factor particular in deprived areas

Hey Craig. Some of my classes are larger. My 8th grade chorus has 35 students! Most of my general music classes are 22-23 students. We are indeed quite lucky in this regard - and others! When I have larger classes, I tend to talk even quieter to force them to listen. And I will often use a microphone.
