I feel depressed a lot lately... it isn't like a feeling of sadness necessarily, sometimes it's just feeling lethargic, unmotivated, physically tired and mentally exhausted. Those things lead to feelings of guilt, shame, and that's what brings about the feeling of sadness, because instead of doing things I should be doing like yard work, vehicle maintenance, and house upkeep, I just... lay in bed all day. Then when the work piles up and I just don't want to do it even though I know I should, I start beating myself up thinking that I'm lazy or whatnot. But go figure, when I'm at work I'm always the first one putting on a smile and busting my ass for the boss to make an extra dime. Sure, sometimes it gets harder to mask and I lash out a little bit, but I guess I'm lucky to have a boss that doesn't really care as long as the job gets done at the end of the day. The past few years have just been... really bad. Lost my Mom, Dad, and both grandmothers in the same year and had to take care of all of the arrangements for all but one of them, and that's just starting to scratch the surface. I used to think I was mentally and emotionally tough, and I guess to a certain extent that's true and I have my family to thank for bringing me up to be that way, but thankfully they also taught me to be open about this sort of stuff. Some people keep it all bottled up and I see what that does to them... even the toughest people need a release sometimes. This is mine.

I lost my dad Nov 17th 2023, and coming up on his 1 year doesn’t even feel real. I’ve been in a black hole coma ever since his death. It doesn’t even feel like it’s been 11 months. Feels like 10 minutes. I can definitely relate to you, I spend most days too depressed to get out of bed, do basic self care or even eat. You’re not alone and I’m sorry for your losses.

Uncle E, you have no idea how much I needed this. I've been going through one of my worst weeks in College, possibly worst week ever. I bombed my last math exam, which Is bad because I'm usually good at math. My grades are barely staying above a B, I can't find a job on campus, and I still haven't found any real clubs, activities, sports, or guilds where I feel like I belong. I looked it up, and I'm fairly certain that I'm showing ALL the signs of depression right now. None of my leisure activities I usually do really bring me any joy right now: Writing stories just reminds me of the manuscript I've got to finish, playing video games makes me feel guilty, uploading to my channel also makes me feel guilty, making music just reminds me of when my band split up, watching TV just makes me feel guilty, and going outside either makes me feel small, helpless, and without purpose compared to the grandeur of the infinite Multiverse, or reminds me how much I don't like humanity. So, while this didn't help me sleep much, I'm glad I chose to watch this.
