I mean, other than ESPN FPI (which uses high school recruiting rankings) or Sagarin (which uses legacy years), UCF's conference -- the AAC -- has a higher SOS than usually 1 P5 conference in any given year in most computer rankings (including S&P+, NCAA RPI, Sagarin RECENT and others). And when it comes to Strength of Record (SoR) -- the best predictor of Playoff results -- UCF has been in the top 10 in 3 of the last 6 years in virtually all rankings, let alone top 3 in 2017. No one wants to talk about that. They want to compare UCF to Alabama, or the AAC to the SEC. They don't want to talk about the fact that the AAC acquired nearly 3x as many BCS points (if the old system was used) in its first 5 years than the Big East did in its last 5. They don't want to talk about the AAC finsihing more and even higher ranked teams than 1 Power conference most of its years. That's the problem. Every P5 fanboy and girl hides behind the SEC, instead of looking at the issues of their own conference.

Bryan Jon Smith nobody started comparing just to do it, UCF brought it on themselves when they beat an SEC team( which was a good win congrats) and started chanting how they want bama, and they wanna be in the SEC all of a sudden. Don’t get me wrong celebrate your win but acting like you just blew out the bamas or the Clemson in the “Actual” championship game and claiming a championship is the reason why most don’t take UCF seriously.
