Hi Brent and Anna, so nice to have another video from you guys, 💙 after following you on KZbin for some years, we finally in February this year change our mono hull ⛵ for a catamaran 👍 and guess what we got our self a Lagoon 440, despite all fuzz about bulk heads for other models and we 💘 it, we will prepare the boat for our needs and set sail June 2023, maybe we see you somewhere? Who knows. P.S. you have lost a lot of kilo, hope it's voluntary and that all is good with you both 🙏 fair winds and thank you for taking you time to make all this videos throughout all this years 🙏☀️ 👏

Hi 👋- what a lovely message and so excited for you guys to be cruising on your Lagoon 440. I’m certain it will bring you many years of cruising pleasure as has Impi for us 🙌✨ I certainly hope our paths will cross and we get some time to have good chinwag and a few beers. My health has been ok - been trying to keep my sugar levels under control and keeping ones weight down seems to be a big part of doing that 😅 - not easy for a grazer like me 😂 Cheers my friend - keep in touch

@@CatamaranImpi Hi, thank you for your lovely answer, you guys have been sharing a lot if inspiration in a lot of years, and its all because of you we bought a L 440! and we don´t regret it a second!!, I have had so many comments about the flybridge that it is so bad in so many ways......... But for me(us) flybridge is the best thing ever! after cruising some month now, I only see benefits with the flybridge, it so awesome with that fantastic overview in the harbour and +++ (no need for me, to tell you guys, you know all about it.) And again thank you 🙏 for all your effort in sharing knowledge and inspiration 👍 Cheers! 🍻 P.S. There will be another friendly L 440 sailing the world now, we have joined your club 👍 - will keep in touch

Thank you so much Jonas - for our improved knowledge could you please suggest more about what Semco Teak Sealer does for us ? I'm sure we can google it but so much nicer to hear from people with their own experience - thanks again
@jonasnyqvist57423 жыл бұрын
@@CatamaranImpi It will make the teak last longer in tropical areas and keep it's color. No need for Teak oils or similar products if you use Semco. Also very easy to apply, just use a scothbrite or a sponge.

@CatamaranImpi3 жыл бұрын
Hey guys - thank you ! We are both well and doing boat projects while we wait for the world to open up again. Impi's doing really well - we've done some major upgrades again like extending the stern of the boat, adding a water tight bulkhead behind the engines, modifying the engine rooms to be bigger with easier access, Johnson 4000 bilge pumps installed into both engine rooms and we've also made the engine rooms water tight. We've done a lot of 'preventative repair maintenance' like replacing electric cables and plumbing although we had zero issues with this and added sprung seating in the lounge, new seating on the bridge, patio and cabins, new mattresses and let's not forget all nav gear removed and refit with all B&G gear including the H5000 autopilot . Well shoot - these are to name a few things we've done recently to Impi and it's a definite 'keeper' for us - been an mazing world cruising cat for sure ... Cheers guys and thanks for reaching out

Happy Days ! Impi's back. Brent, that bit of wood looked damn fine from here 😂🤣 Obviously not though. Nice work and a great idea over filling the caulking and cutting it after it dried. I think I would've tried to smooth it when wet. Your way is definitely better and allows for shrinkage. Thanks for the lesson. Rog
@CatamaranImpi3 жыл бұрын
Ahh thanks mate 🙏✨ That wood worked out just fine. The issue with the recess being cut was that not all was to line and level so we had to select the best part of a long strip. That was the best piece we had. Fortunately when I went back to the teak supplier he noted they were not straight and he suggested with ‘fill in timber’ to rather just go for a square cut and he replaced the worst pieces with that which is what I used for the previous two strips. Anyway, lessons learned and it all came out really well in the end. Shrinkage - yes - I should’ve actually used that word because it certainly does shrink as it dries 🙌✨ Cheers my friend - I’m hoping it wasn’t a lesson and more from a ‘sharing perspective ‘ Keep well and keep sailing ⛵️

What skill sets are the most helpful to have, for sailing around the world (i.e. diesel mechanic, electrical repair, cooking, etc.)?

Good to see you guys again didn`t know you were still in Oz, so how has the Polish Princess Anastasia been treating you during covid. Mate your Teaking like a pro well done, So what`s next for you guys ? Cheers.
@CatamaranImpi3 жыл бұрын
Thank you 🙏 Patric Ahh mate Queenslanders have treated us well - not even sure we can claim Covid ever affected us except it turned us around to sail back to this amazing country. We got permission from the president of New Cal to sail for New Caledonia and actually embarked on the clear out process in Aus when the Delta variant hit New Cal so we asked Australia if we could stay longer . Not only did they agree for us to stay longer but because of our intention to leave they issued us with another years cruising permit so that was a massive surprise as we’d become limited in movement just before that due to how long we’ve sailed on this country. So - been spending lots of money here on boat projects while we wait and currently in Whitsundays - so magical . We absolutely love Australia and Australians are some of the coolest people in the world 🙌✨👍 Next - not sure - perhaps after Covid back for South Africa and another loop around the world Cheers 🍻

I have no idea why you want to replace that plank and potentially cause leakage issues with the teak deck. Try some teak oil to help the discoloration and by the way, natural wood doesn’t always match.
@CatamaranImpi3 жыл бұрын
👋- the plank although difficult to see on the video was very much worn compared to the planks along side ie. It was concave and to prevent sanding down the deck to match the plank it was better to replace the plank to match the deck 👍 I realize it’s hard to see that on a video … but actually wood does eventually blend in with colour . Thanks for the comment - I’ve always been undecided about oil 🤔- cheers Robert and thanks for the comment - much appreciated 🙌✨
