TEAM Aircraft, TEAM MINI MAX, TEAM EROS ultralight or experimental aircraft
TEAM Mini-Max Eros experimental amateurbuilt aircraft. In this issue we visit Airventure 1995 and talk to Scott Severn about the TEAM Eros.
The Eros uses is set up to use more powerful engines than the standard Team Mini-Max.
In order to accommodate this, changes have been made to the structure of the aircraft to handle the extra power, flying and landing loads.
In Greek mythology Eros was the god of love and attraction. We designed the Eros for pilots who love to fly, and you can certainly say it's attractive!
The Eros is the evolution of years of light plane design. It has features like
Heavy duty airframe, for large guys and large engines
24" wide enclosed cockpit
Steel tube landing gear no cross-axle
Easily removable wings
Streamlined cowling, fully-enclosed engine
Molded wingtips
Wheel brakes
Outstanding short field performance
In addition to all these standard features, the Eros has some pretty neat options. Like a convertible canopy. You can fly in an enclosed cockpit during cold weather or open cockpit when the temperature is a little warmer. Wheel pants "spats" to our friends in the UK and Oz really dress up the looks. And you can add a second wing tank to double the range.
The Eros built by Larry Isreal, won the Oshkosh Reserve Grand Champion Award in 1995. And Davy Lee Cooper's Grand Champion at Sun 'n Fun '98.

The blue one with the yellow stripes in the video is mine that I bought off of the original owner back in 2015 . Looks the same from when it was built back in 1998. flies fantastic.

Why does this claim a G rating of 5.5+ and 3-? For this specific model, Teams website says 4+ and 2-...Much less.

Interesting bit of aviation 'historical footage'. Not sure what else to call a 24 year old interview being posted as new?

Interesting that you find 24 year "historical footage" no relevant today when the aircraft is still available, the company still in business, thousands of Mini Max aircraft have been built and to my knowledge there is NO other video interview of the aircraft on the web? The Ultralight Flyer

@@ultralightnews Do a youtube search under Team Aircraft and several vids do show up. I made no comment about 'relevance', more the posting now of a video that old. Surely the company and its products have been interviewed since 1995?

@@chicagorandy Just did a search - only videos came up were mine - no interviews on the Eros of Mini Max. While the factory has been at Airventure - they are focused more on the two seat EPIC. If they had of had any of there single place - I would have done an interview. So while the video is OLD - it is still relevant, and the only interview available for someone looking for information on part 103 legal ultralight aircraft. Please realize these companies are relatively small in size, with little money to spend on shows and advertising. I attend roughly 7 shows a year, the cost for just me is about $2500 per show, and I am not paying for a booth, two or three people to set up and tear down, trucks, trailers, and staff to run the factory while way. I am working on a Buyers Guide for 80's ultralights. Why because many are safe, fun , affordable aircraft. But few people know about them because they are 30 to 40 years old. They can all be flown with no medical, no license and no registration. They can be maintained by the owner, and in many cases parts and service are still available. AND I love ultralights, and apparently, so do many others, as the most watched videos on this channel are those about ultralights. The Ultralight Flyer
