FINALLY! Someone else built a mid-motor! I'm running the same setup (started with an SC5M and put buggy arms and shock towers on it). To lower the front of the body, I used the truck mount like you did, but I trimmed it more and flipped it upside down. It worked great, and you can drop the front of the body without squashing the shocks all the way down. I think the AE chassis is a better platform than a Slash, and the mid-motor setup can handle more power. I am currently undefeated in Eastern Oregon running a Tekin RSX esc and a Trinity Monster Horsepower 3.5t motor...

I have a B5m and the SC5m. I guess the SC5m would be the better to use to convert to a drag car?
@FullThrottleRC2 жыл бұрын
On the SC5M you'd have to replace the control arms as well as the driveshafts, while on the B5M you'd have to replace the main chassis plate. Whatever you have parts for and you think is easier, either way will work.

Should've just used the stadium truck shock towers that already has the body post, or use a stadium truck roller kit would've been ideal for it, rear motor.
@FullThrottleRC4 жыл бұрын
Ideally, yes. I bought the B5M on Ebay though, as a complete car minus the transmitter. It was a deal I couldn't pass up, so I had to swap out the chassis and a few other components. While the stadium truck shock towers would've been better, that was one place that I could save money by just keeping the buggy towers.

I have a brand new B5M buggy that my friend built and gave to me and I want to convert it to a drag car but I'm having a little trouble finding the SC5M chassis. Do you know of an aftermarket one I could get? I'm a little concerned with parts availability since I haven't been able to find the chassis, will this be a problem? I'm considering selling it to go with a slash platform but I'm sure the team associated is lighter and I like the mid motor configuration for drag racing! Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks for great video!

AMainHobbies is out of them in store and discontinued online and I only saw one on Ebay and it's in Australia and it's over $100.
