Planted! Stock setup seems to work well, car is very neutral and handles the jumps well. Got to love wheelers, especially on carpet - crazy!

I can see why people like carpet, traction isn't an issue. I may start driving out to the carpet track.
@VestedUTuber
@VestedUTuber 4 жыл бұрын
Carpet does give huge amounts of traction. Too much in fact, IMO. It's pushed the designs of off-road vehicles in a direction that makes them overspecialized towards high-traction surfaces. A carpet-focused car is essentially only usable for racing due to its extremely low ground clearance, whereas a dirt-focused one can do double-duty as a light or even medium-duty basher depending on the vehicle type. I have nothing against running off-road on carpet, but it needs to be its own separate thing. It's hard to get people into racing if they need an entirely separate car for racing right off the bat.
@jerryvolpini7987
@jerryvolpini7987 4 жыл бұрын
Not a fan of carpet, I mean these are off-road buggies, right?! And it takes an entirely different car to run carpet, meaning a second kit or constant back and forth with one chassis, which gets tiring real fast! All that being said, a track, any track, is a good thing, regardless of surface (especially in this day and age)!

The new car looks cool. The running video doesn't look bad either. No comment necessary, but I saw that you seem to have an extreme amount of + toe on the car. Is that for the extra entry response, or could you use extra ackerman to gain low speed turn radius? That much + toe seems like it would kill your straight line speed and make the car twitchy. There might be other ways to gain initial turn entry response. You could try dialing in some braking, rather than 0 if that is what you run.

Another excellent video... You may have been the first in the world to publish a review on the build and running!! My one struggles to cram all the wiring under the body nicely. I noticed that you have rather longer wires - is this on purpose? Does it create a degree of flexibility for moving wires around to fit under the windows? My motor wires are slightly messy as my ABC wires from ESC to motor need to be AC, BB, CA with my particular choice of components. Your thoughts please - I am a first timer for 4wd 1/10 offroad.
@RazorRC
@RazorRC 3 жыл бұрын
Did you angle the motor tabs on the motor so that they're to the side of the motor? I left the battery wires long so that if I use the ESC in another car, I don't have to redo the battery wires. No other reason.

I wonder why everyone runs a clear rear and front wing. Is there a rule or a purpose on this?
@performancedanny
@performancedanny 4 жыл бұрын
We scuff them with Scotch-Brite so it helps you see them. The film is on the wrong side for painting. Most Racers don't want to put paint on the wing to save wait! believe it or not. You can't paint them but the paint will get scratched off fairly easily. They also sell carbon fiber look, and I know Schumacher makes a white wing. That was a good question!
