I've often heard here in Germany that corally plastics break very quickly in cold temperatures

@@tobrc all plastics break in cold weather

Might be worth making this a dedicated 4S machine with 2x run time!
@Boogie_the_catАй бұрын
It's okay on 4s. 5s is much better, but I have to manually set the ESC for 5s every time I switch batteries, so I run at 6s with throttle dual rates set to 75-80% 4s is "fine" but doesn't have anywhere near the punch of 5 or 6s and it feels like training wheels. I'm no top speed snob, but when I run a 5s battery and switch to 4s because my 4s is almost twice the capacity, it feels very slow in acceleration. I just ordered a 6s 8200 mAh pack, so now I'm at the absolute weight limit for the Max 8 combo. The damn battery is 1.2 kilos. 4s is fine, but.... Meh.

My first thought was "I have crashed way worse crash on that and haven't broke an arm that easy, but when you said the temp there. Oh hell's ha the cold made all the difference. My 2¢... I keep the center diff where it's at. Less will be diffing out all the time. Have Fun.

wheel extenders and cold of course are increasing breakage risks on "bad ( not so bad)" landings. i do love this rig compare to the kronos. i smatched both few times and the kagama wins to my mind. Great content and Great Videos as usual!! Thanks Jason.
@Luke-en2tk11 ай бұрын
I still think they need to put a little bit more flex into their plastics going forward but I love their improvements on the latest models. Oh -2degC I didn't realise it was as cold so maybe most RC's of that size and weight would have broke in those conditions with a landing like that
@therchotspot11 ай бұрын
Man the motor rips in that. I dont know why anyone would say it's heavier than other Corally cars, its the same as my kronos xtr. But anyways, it's just a bad landing in the cold. I have bashed mine hard with no problems, just one break that was my bad driving, lol. Cool video as always!
@demoadra46616 ай бұрын
It's definitely the cold weather, I bash mine in a skate park and I've landed mine way way worse then what u did, many many times and the arms are insanely strong, I have not broken one yet. So far I broke a single front diff cover and had to straighten the chassis many times till I replaced it with a 7075 T6 Alu 4mm.
@RCvapor11 ай бұрын
That was a bad landing, and the cold too, think any rc would have had similar breaks in that scenario, living here in the uk i certainly have more plastic breaks in the winter, also do the hex extenders put more pressure on arms rod ends e.t.c ?
@JasonPerrinRCVlogs11 ай бұрын
Yes they do. The more you have hanging out there, the more chance you have of bending/breaking parts.
@CommanderAstigRC11 ай бұрын
Great first run with the Kagama Jason. I like the setup you have. The 4282 motor fits no problem. It's stupid fast and has too much torque 🤔. 500k center is too thick for that low kv motor. The cold weather is a huge factor of the breakage Bro. I think the arms are tough Imo. Great bash Bro
@GreatLakesRC11 ай бұрын
That was a bummer break Jason 😢 I would bet the cold influenced that 👍 Overall the truck looked pretty good!
@rcjunkie26011 ай бұрын
Don't forget about that wind chill created by 40 mph -50mph rips back and forth. And the bad landing. 30 - windchill, and how thick did the shock oil get at those windchill temps. Not much compression fast enough on that rear shock.

I snapped a Typhon in half , jumping the car in -15 Celsius. Cost me a $30 chassis. Now when it’s winter we just set up a crawler course in the basement and run the 1/18 mini crawlers

I have a Max 8 G2S in mine and get about 9 minutes runtime on a 5s 5200 CNHL lipo.
@kevinf720111 ай бұрын
Sorry for the breakages. That was a big one. The cold and everything compressing as it did on 1 wheel from that angle would of taken out the best of them. Bash on and looking forward to your thoughts on the RC8!🤜👍

Did you have to do any modifications to the wheelie bar to get it to fit it seems like the spacer that slides between the chassis and the diff block are different

I think I did something. But it wasn’t anything special.

Hi just want ur opinion. If u could only get 1 between TEAM Corally KAGAMA and HOBAO HYPER MTX. (Both Roller) which would u choose? Thanks

DAM! Good question. :) It would be the MTX. You can't beat Hobao's quality.

There are pros and cons to hex extenders. This is one if the cons. It's not a lot but it still adds more leverage on those arms. Plus the cold and a really awkward landing. Equals broken parts. Thankfully that why buy hobby grade cars. Parts are replaceable. Hopefully rpm will make a more durable up soon
@cj91011 ай бұрын
I dont like the Design form from the Kagama but they build great cars. I would love to get myself a Punisher one day but first I have to give my Hobao SSTE a ride😂❤ Ps: can you check out the new Open Source RADIOMASTER MT12? 👀 I like your technical details talk and the radio seems to be insane!

Good decision on judging the plastic, it was a bad landing not judging your driving after all we all have that happen, also i don't own this brand so no history with them nor am I a blind fan boy. I say what I say because yeah it was a bad landing and as you said it was freaking cold out, all plastics break easier in cold, even those designed for cold weather, just a fact, im sorry it ate dirt on the first run, but physics r physics and sure you can bend them but rarely can you break them laws. However I do thank you for the time and money you put in on this hobby for your viewers.
@stevensaid220011 ай бұрын
The funny thing is you had 2 really bad shavers and the car survived those no problem and then when you hit it more straight is when it goes to hell lol That’s how it goes sometimes!
@knowair676711 ай бұрын
Bummer!! You waffled it..plan and simple. 🤕😃 I bet those hub extenders didn't help either. I feel that buying the Kagama roller is missing out on one of TC's greatest assets, the Kuron/Torox combo. IDK why anyone would buy a TC 6s Asuga, Kagama or Spark roller? Sure, the RTR radio and servo suck but, I don't think there's a better rtr 6s motor/esc combo on the market. I've heard reports of the Kagama coming in around a pound lighter than the outgoing Kronos XTR. If that's true, even more reason to buy an RTR Kagama? I mean, what are you gonna do with more power? Break $hit, that's what. Maybe I'm in the minority here but, I feel the Kagama RTR is better off "as delivered" than adding a bigger can motor and hub extensions. Waste of money IMO, buy more durable tires instead maybe?. I have run my Kronos XTR, Arrma 6s and TRX rc's in the snow and sub freezing temps countless times with no notable effects from the cold. I feel TRX has the most durable plastics, TC is last out of the 3 for me. These are of course just one man's opinions. ✌Great video as always!!👌 Love the quality and detail of your video's Jason. Thanks for that!!😎🍻

That motor was super fast. It really ate up the distance in that big grassy park and looked really good doing it. Imagine that system in a Big Rock 6S! What's the best way to run an RC in ice-cold weather like that? Just not jump? Wouldn't make for a great KZbin video though.
