For the question "Why are there multiple clones of the same characters on both teams?" 1. It's a video game, one with a hefty amount of cartoon logic. 2. Lore wide, there are other mercs beside the main ones we follow that also work for Red and Blu. The confirmation exist in the comic where Redmond and Blutarch rented the Alimo for a meeting before being killed by Gray Mann, in that chapter, we see multiple Engineers (all different people) helping adjust the immortality machines. 3. An early wide spread theory in the community is that the Engineer and/or the Administrator are responsible for cloning the members and place them on both sides to perpetuate the war games indefinitely. Overall, don't think too hard about it. This is an old game with a limited cast and a wide range of customization in cosmetics which manage to give the same characters different personalities based on their costume of choice, and of course a passionate community that keep it alive. Different creators will make their own weird TF2-verse, so the main rule of thumb is that if the characters don't think something is weird then neither should you.

it's just for the video, in-game only an engineer can place buildings (dispenser, sentry, teleporter entrance/exit)

Your question on the glowing hat, thats a unusual, its a special hat that has a special effect on it, those hats vary from price since u cant usually buy it from the ingame store Thats why several different hats with the same/different effects having varying prices Base on what i can remember a unusual hat was sold for 6000$ Might as well be the most expensive hat of them all, which is the "burning flames team captain"

Technically in the games code,if you were to give the box to plaxe the teleporter/dispenser to any class,you would be able to place the teleporter and dispenser down,but not upgrade them and not be able to place down a sentry

All non-engineer classes has a metal supply of 100. That is why engineer gets 100 metal from droped non-engineer enemy ammo boxes. While the engineer droped ammo boxes just has whatever metal they had left. Could 200, 7 or just non at all.

15:20 I believe that in canon there is 1 of each merc on both red and blue. However in animation I think that it bases off that in game there can be multiple of a single character since Tf2 is 12v12 with only 9 mercs.

tf2 uses the main characters of Red team on both sides just because they’re good characters, canonically there are no clones and every merc is a different person

In game, only engineer can place buildings yes soldier building one is just for this animation, which he barely knows how to do Also the mask at 14:41 was specifically of Walter White, standing next to a scout who looks like Jesse Pinkman

Hey Largo, you should watch “The State of Movement FPS” and “The State of Movement FPS 2” by FUNKe, they’re not Team Fortress 2 related but I’d be interested in seeing your thoughts on the games and mechanics discussed, responses to the Overwatch mentions, and your thoughts and feelings on movement centric games in general. After those two videos there’s also “MORE Movement FPS” and finally “EVEN MORE Movement FPS” as the fourth entry in the series, though the Even More video is likely much too long at a whole 40 mins and over half of that dedicated solely to the Shadow Warrior games.

The duplicate thing is done only on the videos while in the lore theres only 2 of each mercenary. Theyre not clones theyre different people but valve didnt want to make 2 models for 2 characters that would play the same + more voice actors + different personalities. It wouldve been too much work for them.

Also, the crate and key at around 6:30ish are.. well... TF2's version of microtransaction: Mannco. crates and keys you need to buy to open, once opening a crate you will get, depending on the crate, a random cosmetic and if you are lucky, a rarer version that has particle effects known as "an unusual hat." Many unusual hats go for very expensive prices in real-world cash, i managed to buy one that was worth 40 bucks after selling something else that was worth 60.
