The Widowmaker doesn't use shotgun ammo. Instead, it uses 30 metal (engineer can carry 200 max) to fire a shot and refunds the metal equal to the amount of damage dealt.

up to max base damage, so 60. used to be equal to total damage but it's return got capped early on. Still a net gain of 30 if you deal at least 60 damage

@@Slye_Fox no, no it isn't. 60 is the base damage. 90 is maxed ramp up damage. barring a few exceptions, all hitscan weapons have a 50% damage ramp up based on proximity. how to tell the base damage? A crit shotgun does 180 damage. crits are always 3x base damage. those ramp up damage exceptions? all of scout's scatterguns and all of sniper's rifles. Scout's scatterguns get a 66% damage ramp up, and sniper's rifles get no ramp up or falloff.

When sentry gun is in a Red bubble - It means engineer is using Wrangler - small antena which gives: - Red bubble shield which increases turret's defence A LOT. - Manual aim as long as Wrangler is pulled out. - Turret shuts down for a few seconds to switch back to autoaim mode when you put away Wrangler.

@@LargoReacts engies always use sentries for cover. The bubble doesn't increase the hitbox or actually act like a shield, it's simply and indicator for the enemy that the engie is using the wrangler. The wrangler quite literally doubles the firing speed and also makes the 200 hp sentry into a 600 hp sentry.

also the manual aiming allows you to bypass the usual range limitation of the sentry, so its a necessity if its places in an open space or else you risk seeing enemies just shooting it from out of the range at which it automatically shoots people

11:03 Frontier Justice at the cost of 50% max clip size (so from 6 to 3) you gain guaranteed critical hits for every kill and assist your sentry had, 2 for kills, 1 for assists, and they are given to you upon the sentry's destruction. This caps at 35. These are lost if you die. widowmaker consumes metal, the same material used to build and upgrade buildings. you carry a max of 200, and every shot consumes 30. but for every point of damage you deal up to 60, you gain back an equal amount of metal. so as long as each shot deals an average of 30 damage or more you have effectively infinite ammo.

The Widowmaker is a interesting Shotgun, it replaced ammo with metals, no reload needed heck it deal more damage if your sentry aim the enemy you're shooting.

One of my favorites! Starting from this point onwards, all of these have an Extras video that definitely should be watched afterwards. How it feels to suffer is the first of the Extras and is next.

Engineer is the most management and support focused character other than I guess Medic. Their buildings all help in different ways and all have upgrade paths (unless you use the mini sentry) that take time and resources. So an engie needs to balance what to dedicate time and metal to building and upgrading. On an attack defend map, the Engie can be the biggest influence if left un countered. A fully upgraded teleporter network will have your allies streaming to the front lines way faster than normal. A dispenser at the front lines or flank can allow fighters to hold positions where normally they would have to retreat. The sentry gun can totally lock down an area and really punish flankers and over extending opponents. And with a shogtun in hand they are still lethal on their own. Unfortunately they kind of suck on some maps where the front line shifts back and forth constantly as they don't have the time to set up. Their buildings that took so much effort to build can also be demolished in an instant by a good explosive class. Still, great class overall.

The Wrangler AKA that radar thingy is basically a Remote control towards your sentry/turret. It basically making Sentry has much better shooting range trade off with Manually control your gun. BUT once you tank it away Sentry will have 3s being disabled. To reactivate again. But that’s also fine this Wrangler also making Sentry pretty much has better durability while activated as well as while disabled after put the Wrangler away.

As a strategy gamer usually i get drawn towards builders aswell as i really like supports in games atleast aggressive supports that can both help and help out the team. best feeling in games like this is i heal or help out an ally and see them do good.

That little bubble is what makes the Wrangler op and banned in most competetive formats. 66% damage reduction giving even a mini sentry 300 hp and a level 3 648 hp. b4nny said it best, health is really difficult to balance against in TF2

To explain some things better: as another comment said the widow maker uses metal, but what’s not explained is how important metal is. Without it you can’t repair buildings or make new buildings. Which is what balances the widow maker, if any bullet misses than that’s a bit of lost metal you can only get back from a dispenser or ammo pack. So it effectively turns engineer into a slower and more deadly scout

The widowmaker uses the engineers metal supply as ammo and refunds metal based on damage done. So if you can aim its very strong but if you miss a lot you end up without ammo and without the ability to build anything

Well, it does say "Provisions" on the front of the machine, and the TF2 wiki has the machines official name as "Dispense-O-Matic 9000 Provisions Dispenser". It could reasonably be called either or both and still be correct.

This video isn’t exactly good at explaining Engineer, it kind of expects you to already be familiar with him, especially since Lazy uses unlocks for pretty much the entire video. The Engineer’s stock weapons are a shotgun for his primary, a pistol for his secondary, and his wrench for his melee, which of course he uses to build his buildings with the metal he collects from ammo and dispensers, that being the sentry (the turret of course, upgrading it increases the firing speed, then adds a rocket launcher), the dispenser (an ammo, metal, and health dispenser that gradually refills over time, upgrading it increases how much it can hold and how fast it can generate the stuff) and the teleporters (one entrance and one exit, upgrading them shortens the time between teleports), all of which he can pick up and move around at will. Now having gone over what engineer does in general for likely no reason as you probably already have a good grasp on how he works, Lazy mainly uses the rescue ranger instead of the shotgun, a special engineer shotgun that lets you shoot your buildings with projectiles to heal them in exchange for metal (it also lets you use metal to grab and move building from a distance), and instead of the pistol, Lazy uses the wrangler, which is like a little radar that not only lets you manually control your sentry and where it shoots, but also creates a protective bubble shield around it that reduces damage. He also uses the gunslinger instead of the wrench for a bit, which mainly just replaces your sentry with a mini sentry that costs less metal to build and can build faster than the normal sentry, but can’t be upgraded. I don’t know why I thought to take the time to explain all of this, but it might’ve benefited you in some way.

Oh yeah, and the gunslinger gives you an extra 25 health. Also, the frontier justice gives you 2 critical hits for each kill and 1 critical hit for each assist that your sentry gets, but only after it’s destroyed. And then, the widowmaker uses your metal instead of having a clip and its own ammo, and it gives you back metal for landing hits, which, as Lazy said, effective means you reload on hit.

Yeah I often use Sentry and Turret interchangeably, some games call it one or the other, sometimes they call it a sentry turret even. I cant keep track lol
