I too had a JRX-T as a kid. Losi then came out with a conversion kit to upgrade it to an LXT and I still have it. Naturally after seeing this mini version I had to buy one. Thanks for the review.

Definitely the most thorough overview I’ve seen. Thank you. I really like how responsive the steering is on the truck compared to the under steer on the buggy

Nice review and brief history of the early Losi lineup. I put in my order for one of these guys and went straight to ripping out my lawn and have been building a track to suit this scale. I think the 1:16-1:18 is the perfect size for a backyard track. Looking forward to running it.

Thanks! I was messing around with some different motor stand designs and have those out on display. I do like the older brushed motors. Call me crazy but I feel like they have so much more character compared to the newer motors.

Rewatching because we just got a pair of em. Missing your videos Bryce.. side note Sabula Tech ‘s owner is from Davenport and went to high school just down the street from my shop. When I ordered my bo link Funco body he sent me an extra because I was from his home town 😁

Thanks! I'm getting the itch to put out some more videos and looking forward to some of your knowledge bombs on those vintage RC's. Glad to hear you found a couple of the mini JRX-T's. I was visiting a Hobbytown in Rockford, IL and they had a couple on the shelf. I do like Sabula Tech. They seem to make decent Losi bodies that come with decals and masks for roughly the same price as TBG body and they make some injection molded reproduction Losi parts!

Thank You! I wouldn't wait too long due to the limited run. It really is a cool little truck that kind of hits that nostalgia spot. Not quit as good as the real thing...but it'll do. I need to get it out on a track, of which there are no dirt tracks around.

@@jack-o-trades I wanted a JRXT so bad in the early 90’s. Could not afford it. Been my dream RC ever since. I have the Mini JRXT now, among other Losi. XXXNTs, 8-T, Mini-Ts, etc. Always loved their trucks. What websites do you go to for your JRXT parts? Or maybe even a working replica? I think an actual would be too much at this point, even if I could find one for sale.

losi may do what they did with the mini t collection? Just not collection edition, guess we'll have to see!

I did not understand the reasoning to make these a limited run! I was annoyed when they released the buggy as a mini and did not get one. I do like the larger size of the truck versus the buggy. They buggy is too small and too low for me to be able to run it around here so I have not had any reason to get one. The truck would probably do better since it has a bit more ground clearance. I am glad you were able to get one (a few) and hopefully you can help out someone that missed out! Thanks for the thorough run down of it and the history!

Thanks Addam! This would probably do great on your track (See Ari's video on RC Retro) probably not so much on grass. Worst case, it's probably an easy truck to flip due to the limited run. I may already have one going to a local you-tuber. We'll see.

I have both and the truck does excellent in taller grass, the buggy does ok as long as you have some speed but will get stuck. I’m new to the hobby and love the losi mini series of rc products but I also don’t have a track or lots of space

@@Blue_collars_bricks I have the Mini-B and a couple of the original Mini-Ts and I love them. Mostly I run them indoors since the ground clearance is an issue outside!

This brings back so many childhood memories. Really wish it was full size though. I still really want one, but do you think it's really something I shouldn't open and drive or what? Because of the whole limited edition thing...
@jack-o-trades
@jack-o-trades Жыл бұрын
I would just run it. if you want to save it, put a chassis protector film on the bottom. I just ordered a Furitek brushless motor for mine to get some extra speed. I'm kind of surprised that these are still available at retailers despite the limited edition run.

@@jack-o-trades Me too! I just found out that they came out with them a couple weeks ago. I remember seeing the buggy version and I was like seriously where's the jrxt! Then I came across it on KZbin and was like omg they did it! But then saw that it was limited edition and I was like well crap that's no fun lol. I feel like I'd have to buy 2 and shelf one and run the other lol.

@@alfredyost7972 I just bought one from a local hobby shop. They still had another on the shelf. I was interested in R/C cars in high school and just barely got into the hobby. Then I graduated in 1990 and went into the Air Force where I lived in dorms for a number of years and didn't have the space to build, keep or run R/C cars. I just started thinking of getting into the hobby again, and thinking that a smaller scale at a cheaper price was a better entry point than getting an expensive 1/10th chassis. Saw this JRXT Mini on the shelf and was hit with a huge wave of nostalgia. I compared it to some of the newer 1/18 and 1/24 rock crawler chassis but couldn't pass up a chance to relive a missed part of my youth with the "T".

Horizon I believe owns a main and tower now.
@jack-o-trades
@jack-o-trades Жыл бұрын
I'm not surprised they own Tower. And I did confirm you are correct with a quick google search. However I don't think A-main has any affiliation with Horizon (With the exception that they are a reseller). There is an A-main - HobbyTown relationship though.
@IowaBudgetRCBashers
@IowaBudgetRCBashers Жыл бұрын
From what RC guy garage said Horizon is offering the parts to convert a jrx2 mini to one of these and that it cost almost 200 for the conversion parts.. their way of screwing people out of more money I guess
@jack-o-trades
@jack-o-trades Жыл бұрын
That's funny considering they are only $170. I guess the just reinforces the market to buy a complete car and parting it out. Gil essentially left Losi when Horizon started forcing the RTR's onto the Losi brand. Recently, I have come to the conclusion (without any research or basis) that it might actually be less expensive to produce an RTR vs a kit. I suspect that it may have something to do with the overhead of kitting out a kit and making sure the parts bags are accurate vs just assembling it all at the factory.

Yeah I was considering converting my buggy so that I don’t have to open my truck but after seeing the price I don’t think I will
