He absolutely should have won. Rumer is a good dancer, but literally Rumer and Val placed it ultra safe. Every dance they did looked the same. She won because her “Hollywood royalty” parents agreed to make an appearance. Bruce Willis did it with a mug on his face too.

I’m still so salty that they didn’t win. I saw R5 twice that following summer and he had a bunch of mirror ball trophies that fans had made him lined up on his bass amp. It broke my heart. 😭 He deserved so much better.

They didn't win because half of the result is viewers' votes. Riker got to runner-up because he could DANCE. Rumer had a little name recognition AND she could dance. At the end of the day, the votes went to Rumer. But frankly, it's Riker's dancing that I remember today.
