Thank you. I just realized something about myself. I grew up out in the woods with no other kids around and went into triathlon as my sport in the early 90s. I operate professionally as a person depending, too often, on one dude to get stuff done. I need to focus on teamwork more.

im in the middle. grew up urban, got most of my team work skills from socialising/school/etc, and most sports skills from 1-on-1 sports....i do often wish I had played more teams sports, there just really weren't any available for girls sadly. I mostly hang out in the woods now though loool.

I di and still do DESPISE team sports. That's why I always loved martial arts, because you are the only person you can rely on, your hard work and no one else. You take all of your failures by yourself, but also all of your victories. I never liked being part of a group where I had to rely on other individuals.

Music can be like that too, even fusing both scenarios. You have to practice with individual performance in mind, especially if theres any solo sections for your instrument... but you also have to keep in time with everyone else and adapt as issues come up during the set

Motocross, Kenpo , racing mountain bikes and distance running taught me so much about ownership, preparation and self reliance . While they may not be team sports they are definitely tribe sports . Those guys you go up against every weekend are as much of a team/family and learning tool as any coach could ever be. There is a real comradeship and respect that exists in those kinds of sports . You will never get better advice than from a guy that just handed you your ass . I found my passion in individual sports, even the days I got totally destroyed out on the course.
@MiLoX.1 Жыл бұрын
This helped me because I was doing track for three days but then I realized I didn’t like it. I wasn’t used to the idea of having a team. Since previously in my childhood my parents signed me up for individual sports, I feel like I could fit in.
@darthvader43392 жыл бұрын
For some reason I just never liked team sports, as a kid, I was small and weak and shy, so that’s probably a reason I didn’t like team, in my teens, I built confidence and I have no problem doing a team sport but I just gravitate towards sports like wrestling and MMA (and even hobbies like chess) because I feel in full control of my performance, and when I do great in things like sparring, or rolling on the mat, I can proudly say I did that.

The better your teammates are that you train with the better you’ll be when performing as an individual. Top Gun, a wrestling team, or lead sniper on a seal team.
@andrabook87583 жыл бұрын
huh, I would have said that the other way around. The better you are as each individual, the stronger the team, lol. Do snipers work in teams tho, always though it was solitary.

I liked individual sports because I won or lost on my own....Tennis, wrestling, mountain biking etc. I was best at basketball, but I fuckin hated it because of the team aspect of it. Now...when it get down to it and survival is at stake, I completely think about the group as a whole. If they don't live, I don't live. To the aviation reference, I fly very differently with my wife and kids in the plane vs when I am alone.
@andrabook87583 жыл бұрын
woohoo! #tennis team >:D. Totally agree with your 1st sentence. I always liked the fact that you could have teams too in tennis, AND it was one of the sports which got mixed teams well. You could really have men and women teams and for that to actually work. I never hated team sports but that's mainly bc I would try to make everyone carry out my fabulous plans, but really I never did them intensively. We just had to as part of PE in highschool. I got most of my team work skills from kids games though. Makes me sad that most kids today don't have half the fun I used to. There just don't seem to be a ton of outdoors group games. It's really wierd. I don't understand how they manage. Somehow we had a ton less sports in school but a ton more cooperative games/play time...and they didn't used to switch up the groups like they do now (new team every week) so it actually ended up being a highly cooperative environment, even though on paper it didn't really look like it would be. Plus you'd be able to form long term group dynamics, which almost never happens for young people nowadays. They actively discourage it in most case, all the way up to university, for everything, including sports.

simple computer building some kid just built a hairdresser robot on his own it took years off his life haha and thats just one guy we need a public utility reaching the far courners without this we are nothing as a society so elons on board arc investors ive spoken to them but i, we need more,, i jut keep relaying the concept till new leads pop up im awaiting cultural buildings to pop up so i can execute all over that shit becuase i already know what thier missing weve got the forum building in Groningen the Netherlands - it needs alot of adjusting and contacts are nowhere to be found weve got hackerspaces which are good but pretty useless without that grown up to update tasks and conncet everything otherwise everyones working in circles becuase progress is not effectively recorded and updated on the fundimentals which needs a website with global input which sounds impossible i know we dont have a town hall and we wonder why were so stupid the global mindset is age 12 wed be lost without library's were lost without a new public town hall makerspace global innovation utility we need hover cars and to be showcased at the venus project with uber support and tour guided routes the work is cut out and people are bored robert downys footprint coalition set up by iron man is failing alot of animals are going extinct so we need all this in one building replicated across the globe i promise its easier than it sounds the web will do the heavy lifting we just refine the concept and itll promote itself just giimy someone who can se this vision think kennedy space museum full of 3d printers and science projects with iron man masks alien statues and hover bikes hanging from the rafters with da vincii wings we gotta develop sky traffic systems government are too tunnel visioned to get this right thousands of projects to jump in on or start but no facility, its why the world is in bits youtube is a one way signal potentially doing more damage than good becuase its a false sence of interaction with 2% progress gained if even we need public halls acting as central intelligence regarding eco solutions and fundimental innovation analysed and enhanced beyond comprehension
