even if someone is team conrad, i cant understand how people can be SO happy with that kiss at the end... jere had just found out about his mom and i really do think belly owed him a conversation before going ahead and kissing his brother :( it showed a huge lack of consideration for his feelings (from both belly’s and conrad’s part)

I get what you mean, but I also think that throughout the season Jere was definitely aware that Conrad was going through something serious, and despite knowing that and knowing how Conrad and belly felt about each other, he still went out of his way to be manipulative and sneaky to prevent them from being together. All that being said, Belly did not handle the situation well at all with the way she just kissed Conrad at the end without talking to jere or maybe waiting until the shock at Susannah’s news had died down.

Also, I would like to point out that Conrad was with Nicole this whole time we were seeing him ogling over Belly. So to me, saying that Jere was trying to manipulate a situation where his brother was with a WHOLE OTHER GIRL, doesn't make sense to me. IF anything I feel like this shows how Belly and Conrad though naïve also hurt people without even really giving it much thought. Also, JUSTICE FOR CAM CAMERON!

One thing that pissed me off was how Nicole and her friends ditched Belly and Taylor (literally naked on the side of the road at night!) all because of what CONRAD did. I agree, that was NOT okay! I was cursing out Nicole during that scene. Like Belly made Conrad send her that text. Like, WHAT? 😤 What made me madder was how BELLY had to apologize for it. And, for what, having liked him? She was such a good friend to Nicole and even told her how she just hooked up with Jeremiah. I don't get how she could take her anger at Conrad out on Belly for something that wasn't her fault, especially when she told her how she had something going on with Jeremiah. I was mad Nicole never apologized since Belly and Taylor did not deserve that. A little thing, yes. But, I was so mad about this. 😂

All I want is for them to be given a chance and a more amicable breakup than what I've heard happens in the books. If they can be given a chance and better breakup then sure, Belly and Conrad can be endgame.

One theory I have is if the boys and Laurel are going to especially be in anger-grief because of the treatment trial they talked Susannah into. Susannah refused to do the treatment trial because she didn't want to suffer anymore and "die as herself" plus the survival rates were very low. The boys and Laurel begged her to do it so she could "at least try" and Susannah only agreed to do it FOR THEM. Laurel even says she didn't care about the survival rates as "she knew" it was going to work. (Clearly her grief talking as she NEEDED to believe her best friend would live; always going into denial whenever someone told her Susannah was going to die whether she liked it or not. You could argue the treatment thing was more for THEM than it was for Susannah.) So I wonder if she dies but in a much slower/painful way because of the trial treatment. Not "as herself" as she wanted. Leading the boys and Laurel into a more angry type of grief, angry with themselves for not respecting her wishes and letting her have that one last thing. I wonder if we'll see them go on about how Susannah suffered so much more than she had to all because "they talked her into it" and how they hate themselves for this moment. God, if they do, it's going to RIP MY HEART OUT. 😭

Can someone enlighten me on what happened in the last 3 episodes of season 1 that causes almost everyone to start not liking Jeremiah with belly. Because I only ever saw their progression and not Conrad’s? I just don’t rlly like Conrad like the way he handle things and if you read the books it’s different because of Susannah’s cancer there’s just more context to why jeres just the right choice 🤷🏻‍♀️ but belly and Jere aren’t good together to me because belly doesn’t fully love him so that’s just dumb but the stuff comrad does to her for 20 years is so bs I wouldn’t let it slide. Also there was no closure with jere at the end it was so rushed and they ALWAYS do jere dirty like every single book. I think jeres character deserves better tbh.

I read these books in 6th grade (I'm in 9th now) I was so obsessed with the way Jenny Han wrote these characters. I went to KZbin and looked for information about it becoming a tv show and only results from 11 years ago had popped up. So I reconended all of the books to my friends but they never read it. Then when the show came out they started reading the books and ha THE AUDACITY to recommend the books to me😐

Love love LOVED your reactions to this show. Can't wait for Season 2. On whole this show was 10000x better than the book but the only change they made that I think was bad was having Belly and Jere hook up this early. I never shipped them but it made more sense in the books than it did in the show and definitely takes away from Belly and Conrad finally getting together at the end of the season (even though they're clearly the endgame).

This show definitely messed me up. I am way too conflicted and I cannot make up my mind. I’m currently reading the books because I decided to watch the show before reading it 🥴 but it’s made me 10 times more conflicted than before and I am beyond going crazy over here waiting for season two.
