Think I might start a swedish force, I like the options they have. Certainly more options than the Icelandic nordic force chart.

It's a lovely set and I was lucky to win an individual platoon of S-tanks, so I've got 11. Really nice and easy to build and very cool. If memory serves the Swedish were concentrating of defence in their doctrine, so perhaps that's why the S-tank is great in defence, with that very long range gun and ambush rule. I'm looking forward to getting mine on the table. My only issue on the set is the helicopters. I don't think they're too good in the game. You can't move and fire with them, AT 21 is of limited use against some tanks, even the T-72B will survive most of the time. Also if you end up with a meeting engagement, you might even get to fire them until turn 3. At least the West German ones have AT23, which is a threat to most tanks. However, the helos look cool and the TOW launcher looks cool too. You do have to buy the TOW launcher direct from Battlefront, so that adds to the value of the contents a little. Battlefront's website postal charge here in the UK, is expensive for small orders. For me personally, I think 3 of the new Centurion kits would have been better, as that would be 1 platoon of S-104's to support the S-tanks

Once again a nice video, although i have to disagree on the good value part, at least for a bit. Is the box bad, no, not really, but it is priced in a way, that one should be aware of. Here in Europe the retail price, without discounts, is 100€ for the Swedish Starter Army. The models in the army box a value of ~114€, saving around 12.5%. Maybe a tiny bit more, if the the helicopters are more expensive, than the German ones, so lets be generous and say 15% saved. Better than nothing, but compared to older boxes it feels a bit lacking. The T-72 Army is around 38% (total value being ~ 160€, with other boxes being similar). I am aware, that Battlefront might need to caculate the boxes less generous in the current economy. So unless you want every single model, the box is not really worth buying, which the other army boxes (argueably) were. Looking at the French box this seems to be the way forward, the savings are about the same (~12%).

Yeah, I guess the marginals are tighter for BF as well, especially on kits containing resing as well. At least you get the addons for the helicopters in the box saving you from having to order those from BF directly. But anyway, at least you still save some by buying this unlike some other game companies that just tally the price of the components up... 😅

Just a PSA for the people building a Swedish force. The suggested loadout of two RB-75 Maverick's and two 135mm Rocket pods on the Viggens is not a realistic loadout and would not be usable with the plane's avionics. The AJ37 also didn't have an internal gun. I'll probably model mine with one plane with four rocket pods and one plane with two Mavs and two 3d printed ADEN gun pods to somewhat match the card's loadout.

Great video as always! I do like your matter of fact approach to doing your reviews, it doesn't need to be fancy! Myself I bought two starterkits to jump-start my force (being a swede) and the only real gripe I had with it was that the sight for the Helitow on the helicopters is way to large and long compared to the real thing. But I also understand why as it wouldn't have fit over the already present detail on the plastic kit otherwise. As a whole I really like the release and the models for the swedes. The only thing that really bugs me on the whole is that the transfers for both the helicopters and the Viggen have the wrong numbers. (Flottila in case of the Viggen and aircraft numbers for the helicopters). Easily rectified if you want to but it would've also been easy for BF to research it better or ask for help. I don't mind that a lot of it is resin either, but that could be my nostalgia speaking having played FoW since V2. Rules wise I also like them but I do feel that the S-tank should've had 3+ cross, 4+ cross for a tank designed for Swedish terrain doesn't really make sense. And I do kinda feel like the TOW 2 should've been available for list as well seeing as they were being introduced somewhere around 1986. But here's to hoping for a V2 of the book in a couple of years! 😁 In all really small gripes and over all really happy and finally a Swedish army for TY! And yes, pansarvärnspjästerrängbil 1111 is quite a mouthful even for a fluent Swedish-speaker! 😄

Tbf, the Strv103 did have issues going across ditches and similiar vertical obstacles due to it's short track length and the length of gun extending beyond the front. It should however get a better gun accuracy than a turreted tank and slightly higher anti tank value than the Brittish 105mm gun on cents, leopard1, M1 Abrams etc.

It's absolutely not a deal breaker for me, I just personally feel it's more of a 3+ than a 4+. In the other regards I do like what they did with it, I was hoping for AT 20 on the gun but got AT 21 which I feel is fine.

Limited time only. Welcome to the FOMO. BF trying to be GW is not a great look.

Having a hard time comparing them to GW seeing as none of the content is exclusive to this box...

@@johanmalmquist6076 We now have 3 limited time only starters released or due to be released. Seems like a trend.
