FYI you technically couldn’t use red-eyes fusion with archfiend of lightning from the deck because the gemini’s are considered effect monsters while in the deck and black skull requires a normal monster. So it only works if lightning is on the field as a normal or something like dragons mirror to fusion from the grave

As someone who has dueled with these quite a bit among friends, once you know the deck, it's really cool how you can "work" towards certain strategies depending on your draws. All decks have several outs and "boss" conditions (only exodia(s) are a WIN condition, but dealing with Obliterate, Flare Metal or Mausoleum Of White spam IS possible)

Joey's deck... kinda makes sense, cuz he's basically trying to "Be" like Yugi in a way, and Yugi's deck is primarily a toolbox deck, stuffed with any and everything to help him in certain situations. And with Red-Eyes, it's like they put every tool imaginable in their archetype, but the tools are so outdated and useless sometimes in most "Modern" situations.

@@nicholasdaniel2778I think they're like any other structure deck where you really need 3 copies to make the deck's goal truly viable. Add the promo cards, drop the filler, and triple up on what's important and Yugi's deck is a solid Spellcaster deck with an Exodia wincon. Joey's deck has the worst overall synergy, but could be a decent Red-Eyes deck with some Gemini backup support. Kaiba's is just a good Blue-Eyes deck with the end goal of getting Azur Eyes out.

Alec! You miss played the red-eyes fusion because it says that you need a normal monster for the fusion and you used an effect monster, misplay and instant disqualification.

​@@rogerrabbit132 Wrong. Red-Eyes Fusion is telling you to use the specific Red-Eyes monster that's listed on what you're summoning with it. It's not replacing anything. This means when you use REF you must the Red-Eyes monster listed as fusion material (which, for Archfiend Black Skull Dragon is 1 "Red-Eyes" Normal Monster) but it doesn't remove the other conditions. This is the same reason you run REBD and Dark Magician as garnets to use the Verte engine for Dragoon. Theoretically there are Red-Eyes effect dragons to meet both conditions of Dragoon and REF, but because it's not specified on Dragoon that way, you MUST use REBD itself and the other material is simply Dark Magician. It's true that the non-Red-Eyes materials can theoretically be replaced by any cards that might be capable of filling their role, but in this case he needed a Normal Archfiend. Which means summoning Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning because Gemini monsters are only treated as Normal Monsters on the field or in the Graveyard. *"Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster that lists a "Red-Eyes" monster as material from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand, Deck, or field as Fusion Material"* ...and.. *"Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster that lists a "Red-Eyes" monster as material from your Extra Deck, using only a "Red-Eyes" monster from your hand, Deck, or field as Fusion Material"* ...are not the same effect and the latter one is not the one written on REF, no matter how much you'd like it to be.

Red Eyes Spirit can't be used to summon Archfiend Black Skull Dragon from the graveyard either as it's not a Red-Eyes after leaving the field.

The Red Eyes Archfiend fusion only works with vanillas and geminis aren't treated as vanillas in the deck or hand so for for red eyes fusion to work, Red Eyes archfiend has to be on the field and not gemini summoned. I have a soft spot for geminis but they are so bad

There it is, the comment I was looking for. Man, Geminis being bad is one thing, but it’s gets much worse because REF, re-eyes archfiend, and Archfiend Black Skull actively work against each other. The fusion needs vanillas, Archfiend isn’t a vanilla unless it’s on the field, and if you get him there too bad- ReF doesn’t work because you summoned a monster. With that said, I’d still rather play with my stupid Geminis than Dragoon pass. But that’s just me. Also Red-eyes spirit can’t revive Archfiend Black skull cause it’s not a red-eyes.

I tried using dragon's mirror to make ABS but then you're getting rid of the vanillas in grave. Unfortunately he's a turn 3 or later finisher but that's too slow in today's game.

😴 i had a weird dream last month. I was walking around a big book store and came across a Yugioh card section. I was surprised seeing a Legendary Decks Marik. It had Mariks, Odions and Ishizu decks. Winged dragon of Ra was in the Box Art with Egyptian Hieroglyphics all over. I also saw a Millennium Egyptian themed Advent Calendar with cards inside too.😯

Didn't really see how it went. But supposedly, red eyes fusion cannot send red eyes archfiend of lightning from the deck to fusion summon archfiend black skull dragon. Reason is archfiend black skull dragon requires a normal dragon and normal fiend. But Gemini are considered normal monsters in the field or grave

Alec actually cheated via Red-Eyes Spirit, Archfiend Black Skull Dragon had its original name back in the graveyard and wasn’t treated as Red-Eyes Black Dragon anymore and since the trap Red-Eyes Spirit says the monster HAS TO BE A RED-EYES MONSTER it couldn’t be summoned.

I'd love to see you guys try to play with the original creature rules where atk and defense positions don't exist, and instead you have to just compare your atk to the other creature's def and vis versa. Not sure it there was piercing in the original ruling, you'd have to look that up!

Spotted two misplay, and funnily, both revolve around one card The first one is 8:03 you cannot use the Red-Eyes Archfiend of Lightning because in deck, it's not a Normal Level 6 Fiend Monster, which is the requirement for Archfiend Black Skull Dragon The second one is 14:19 you cannot special summon Archfiend Black Skull Dragon using Red-Eyes Spirit, since it's not a Red-Eyes Monster. It only treated as Red-Eyes if you summon it using Red-Eyes Fusion
