Favorite Hero needs a field spell on your field spell zone to be active in order to gain the ATK boost and targeting protection. When entering battle phase you can activate Favorite Hero to activate a field spell from your deck

@@shahirrizvi7977 Kuriboh was the first hand trap. The whole concept of the hand trap was if you lost your whole field you'd have something you can discard to survive. It evolved from that to what we got now. Which is pretty much take some actual trap and slap those effects on some monster. Pretty much they take mirror force put it's effect on monster. Then you discard it and it does what mirror force would do. That's what it is pretty much. Today there's so many kinds of hand traps which do all traps would do that there's no reason to use traps unless they are archetype based and needed to play some archetype.

Just to point this out, The Dark Magicians’ effect to draw is a Trigger Effect (which are always Spell Speed 1) and starts a new chain after another chain has resolved. It should go like this: Chain Link 1: Shadowmist Chain Link 2: Dark Magical Circle Chain Link 3: Mask Change Chain Link 4: Magician Navigation After that chain resolves, The Dark Magicians’ effect activates to let you draw 1 card because a Spell/Trap card or effect was activated during that chain.

In the first duel, because Masked Hero Acid was removed from the field in the same chain it was summoned, it would not get it's effect in KDE-US regions. However, it would get it's effect in KDE-E. The precedent was set by Satellarknight Deneb being reborned by Call of the Haunted with MST targeting the Call. It would not get the search in NA but would in EU.
