To answer the question of what was meta in 2010. That'd be pretty much everything lol Edison format in 2010 had a very diverse metagame with Gadgets, Blackwings, Gladiator Beasts, Flamvells, Monarchs, and many more. It's a fan-favorite format and I would love to see some Edison format duels on the channel some day.

1:57 Shadow Mist does not actually chain to Faris. Mist has a trigger effect, spell speed 1, and therefore cannot chain link to Faris until Faris' effect resolves. Mist therefore starts a new chain after Faris resolves. Not that it changes anything, the outcome in this particular instance is the same, however when you get to more advanced duels that require nuance into the game mechanics, a misplay like this can impact the entire game.

I only just realised after playing Hero's recently for fun, Alec could have used vyons second ability to search out a Poly by banishing Faris, would have been able to massively overextend his play through using poly on silent soldier for another special summon + malicious if he wanted to go all out

Not a bad match, however as a Dark/Hero player, I noticed and wanted to point out a couple things: Game 1, 2 and 3 Alec didn't use Vyon's 2nd effect to fetch Polymerization before Linking into Cross Crusader Game 2, he didn't use Shadow Mist's 2nd effect to fetch a Hero monster when he used Mask Change Unfortunately I stopped playing around synchro era so I can't comment on Trell's deck/plays, I just got back into the game when the Lair of Darkness structure came out
