Driving an UAZ feels like it's not about to break if (when) you handle it rough. Back in the military, I spent hours trouble shooting why there was no spark. Finally noticed the spark went between two thin wires near the firewall, bend them a bit further apart and it ran fine again.

Thanks for the great content and insight into so many interesting vehicles. As you already have German and Russian 4x4's have you ever considered an ex military Defender? A Wolf maybe... All the best for 2025, hope you have a great new year. 👍

Well, yes. I have considered it. :) Unfortunately, the land rovers are always way too expensive, for what they are. So im still waiting for one to show up, for the "right" price 🙂

Happy New Year and thanks for the content! KJ Off Road slowly but steadily merged into one of my favorite channels this year - just to let You know. "It's so good at all that so that it looks a bit boring on video ...." Well, ain't that what a 4WD is for in the first place? Outmudding a Mog however, with a petrol-engine, a Russian one of all petrol-engines, which just had started within two revolutions, no ether or WD40 whatsoever, after months of just being parked outside in the rain, does show how it *_really_* was done right I reckon. I miss the FJ and BJ series Land Cruisers that had the same spirit, and I actually considered getting a Buchanka to replace my T4 which is bringing imbecile cult money these days. My local UAZ dealer is having (political) issues with the continuity of his spare deliveries though, so I am still waiting for a more based, intelligent set of politicians in charge to leave Russia alone already and finally stop the silly WW they basically plotted since the first "NATO-participation act" in 1994.

Does that have the military portals, or regular civilian axles?
@bco71922 күн бұрын
This is what I was thinking ? Its hard to see on video, these portals they had are really cool design
@KJOff-Road22 күн бұрын
This one just has the regular "civilian" axles

You need at least 14.4 volts to properly charge here in Denmark
@KJOff-Road22 күн бұрын
The bit I showed, was just at low idle (choke still on) with a bit of throttle, it bumped up to about 14,7

Charging voltage should be 13,8V. The alternator usually puts out 14 to 14,4V. Voltage should be measured under load, so switch all the lights and the blower fan on.
@Fordmet23 күн бұрын
im not saying you are worng its just that for a 44 year old vehicle he uses a couple of times per year. If its charging, its close enough
@stefankaufmann825723 күн бұрын
@Fordmet agreed, it doesn't matter if you are doing a bit offroading on your property. My comment was about how it should be done in general. Btw: The alternator can easily be remanufactured, there is not a lot to it, just two bearings, the regulator and probably the sliprings..
@erik_dk84223 күн бұрын
With the temps that we have in Denmark, you really don't want less than 14.4 volts under load. Especially if you don't drive for hours at a time.
