Reminds me of my offroad training at the German army, using a U1300, driving was 20mins and recovery took 3hrs, using two more U1300 hooked in tandem to my back. We tried hard to get my bottomed one pulled back until one forgot to release the parking brake on his, ripping off the caliper, a piece out of the brake disc and bent the wheel... We managed to get a Kat1 that hooked to my front and got me out in no time then... 🤣🙃😛

In the mud bog: engage low range, first gear, all the diff locks, release the clutch slowly, keep the revs up with the hand throttle and you will be out if there. I drove Buffels, which were build on a Mog chassis, in the SA Army. A Buffel weighed 6,5 tons empty, and I never had a problem with being stuck. The power tube driveline is amazing.

You can use that plastic tube wrap for electric cables on those trailer chains it will stop the noise. Also that blue truck has alot of potential as it is, that box config is amazing and the cabin quite spacious, its formidable for a utilitary camper truck. I wish i could own one :D also i had a laugh when tou said with such good weather .

The Danish Army very rarely uses brown in their camo. Most are just a 2 color, green/black camo. And this particular one also had the 2 color camo 🙂

También espero con muchas ganas que te pongas manos a la obra con el Magirus. Creo que será un estupendo camión y que lo vas a dejar de exposición. Gracias por compartirlo, un saludo.

That's a cool trailer
@allanhugh20444 ай бұрын
That trailer is so good compared to Australian Army trailers that we pulled behind our 6x6 trucks in the sixties and early seventies. Does the spare wheel on the trailer go around the other way? The gap behind it suggests to me that it is probably designed to have the spare tyre wall compressed onto the front trailer board, thereby ensuring it is held very securely and not able to swing on the two bolts if the nuts are ever so slightly loose. I was in the Australian Army when the Germans and Americans were demonstrating their tanks; Australia was about to purchase new tanks around 1969/70. The Germans had a couple of their trucks and trailers which had a similar tool fixing arrangement to that of your trailer. But instead of bolts, they had quite large wing nuts which could be quickly undone by hand; a very neat and practical arrangement. I like your paint job, keep it.

Camo is the go. Don’t remember if the Magirus has an air system (probably does). But would it be an idea to install one on the Hummer so you can utilise all your vehicles for towing. I would certainly watch your manufacture and installation. I’m in Greece atm and many farmers here have a small Unimog for field work. Do know what model it is? It’s only around 4 metres long. Love your channel.
@KJOff-Road4 ай бұрын
Yes, The magirus already has air for the trailer. And as for the Humvee. even if it did have an air system, it would never legally be allowed to tow that trailer, on the road. So theres no need to put too much effort into that :) If those unimog's have the same style of cab, as the one in this video, they are most likely 406 models.
@petec73434 ай бұрын
just put a bit of bicycle innertube over the chains - makes them a lot quieter

Nice setup with the Unimog and new trailer, also like the camo on the Unimog! Any special use to the trailer?
@KJOff-Road4 ай бұрын
I don't think this one was ever really used at all. But with nothing extra mounted to it, it seemingly didn't have any special purpose, and was probably just for general transportation of stuff, into the field.
@Unimerk4 ай бұрын
@@KJOff-Road my question was a bit poor I think, do you have an special plan/use for it? 😉
@KJOff-Road4 ай бұрын
Oh haha, well, the main idea is to have the trailer, for when we take the Unimog out, to display it at events. just to make the whole "Cargo-truck" setup look at bit more interesting. But also, if it is a several day event, that trailer can hold all of the camping gear, and keep it out of sight when not in use. Other than that. it can of course be used for just a bit of extra capacity, if i have to haul somthing with the mog :)

The Unimog looks the Poodles Privates in the camouflage paint, and it looks proper with the trailer. What weight can they carry?
@KJOff-Road4 ай бұрын
The mog is reted to carry 2.5 ton. while the trailer is rated to carry 1.5 ton. These are "Off-road" ratings. so on solid ground/road. they can probably take a good bit more. (But with no ratings for it, it would still be considered "Over-load")
