I think that’s why ang only took him on those trips because he saw being his legacy as a burden for his children and he didn’t want that to crush all of them but tenzin being an air bender made it unavoidable for him
@landonletterman8312 жыл бұрын
That really was a thing that went unexplored, that I would have loved it if it did. As the Avatar Cycle rolls, each life is connected but different, each their own but still compensating for what they (in a past life) considered a failure or deficiency. Check this out, because it's neat: The cycle goes Wind→Water→Earth→Fire→ wash rinse repeat. Avatar Roku (the fire nation Avatar before Aang) lived a life plagued with the fear of what would happen to the world if he didn't take his position in it seriously, and fully dedicated himself to being the Avatar, because the Avatar before him didn't take their Avatar duties seriously and more or less died leaving the world veering out of balance to what would happen under Roku. Roku let the fire nation go out of control because he neglected it and his friend, valued his friend too late and died because of it, after spending his entire life prioritizing being the Avatar for the world when the fire nation (his friend) needed him more and he didn't see it. In turn, Aang literally ran from his Avatar duties and prioritized friendship and helping people more than being the Avatar. He was always uncomfortable with it, and his pressure as the last air bender couldn't be denied. He had a *NATION* to rebuild! So when he finally had an air bender child, after a non bender and a water bender, it's sad but understandable that he would pour his focus into this one kid who would inherit all the pressure of Aang's failure. I bet he wished he could spend time with his other kids, or ease up on Tenzin, but he couldn't. He knew what he was doing, and regretted it. That's why Korra was roaring to be the Avatar, and surprised me that she didn't eventually either back seat it to focus on a family, or strike a balance between the two, in compensation for Aang (bonus: all her kids are air benders, the element she struggled with the most)
@robocu4 Жыл бұрын
@@shewolfinubaka Yeah exactly. Aang witnessed the end of the nomad culture as he knew it. I see a lot of people acting like it's strange that Aang would be a 'deadbeat dad' to his other kids in that he neglected them more than Tenzin, but it's pretty obvious why given that only one of them was an airbender while he was still alive
@schris32 жыл бұрын

@@georgeadindu4443 I get what you’re saying but I agree with OP. Zaheer is decent in combat but I wouldn’t consider him a master air bender. He doesn’t really use air bender techniques (spiral movements) when he fights. He may have studied air nomad culture & philosophy but he clearly didn’t study bending. Which makes sense since he originally wasn’t a bender. Also what I’ve noticed is it seems airbending comes a lot easier to most people than the other elements. All the new airbenders easily started bending except Korra

As George mentioned, Zaheer was already a master. Even more when he gained the ability to fly. He didn't have Tenzin's combat experience as an air bender, nor he was an air bender from birth. But Zaheer was far suprerior to anyone, excepting Tenzin. So yeah, he was a master. Just not a full fledged one. He could have been the best air bender in the world, given a full redemption arc. @dimitriasimov21409 ай бұрын
Aang couldn't spend more time with Kya and Bumi, sadly. Tenzin was also the last airbender, so Aang had to properly teach him everything he knew, which took time. It took Tenzin 5 more years to become an airbending master (at 17yo) compared to Aang (at 12yo). Also, Aang's health degraded drastically over time, given his 100 years spent in Avatar state in the iceberg. You also have to take into account how many years Aang was actually able to teach Tenzin, he was probably in his mid 30's when he had Tenzin and Aang lived only to 66. As someone said, it's realistic for Aang to give almost all of his time in order to teach Tenzin and have an actual legacy continued.

It's so funny seeing how Zaheer runs away for most of his one on one with Tenzin and can't connect a single hit XD Tenzin on the other hand hits Zaheer several times and has the fight in his pocket. Too bad P'Li and the others went to Zaheer's rescue X( I remember when I was younger I wanted to be an airbender because of Aang. Older I wanted to be an airbender because of Tenzin😎 👏👏👏👏👏

In my opinion airbending is the best bending style

How about we see Asami Sato’s character and weaponary growth as the vital member of Korra’s Team Avatar.
@dolria13 жыл бұрын
I really wished asami was water bending like korra cuz all the avatar teams has different bending and only water bending was missing.

Still can’t believe Jinora is better airbender than Tenzin( Jinora and Tenzin are on the same level of airbending,but Jinora has the strongest connection with spirit world)
@Cristian_that_artist3 жыл бұрын
I don't see it that way imo. Tenzin in general seems to be better in combat.
@zeldris_zezinho3 жыл бұрын
Jirona may have the strongest connection with the spirit world, but tenzin is far more experienced in combat skills. I guess the point is both of them have their strong and less strong points.
@callumsamuel35913 жыл бұрын
Do you honestly think Jinora could keep up with 3 members of the Red Lotus, and then Pi’Li the combustion bender wildcard, aka the 4th? Jinora for some strange reason was helpless in combat despite being a Master. Situations such as being caught by the net or grabbed by the Dai Li, or failing to evade the vines in Republic City are situations that are trivial for a Master, and Tenzin wouldn’t have lost those encounters, he is leagues ahead and there is no comparison. There’s a reason he asked for Bumi to help against the Red Lotus, alongside his Master waterbending sister Kya, even against grunts / background goons for some reason Jinora lost, she is a spiritual master but not on par with Tenzin for air bending.
@Spherrum3 жыл бұрын
@@callumsamuel3591 To be fair, in the first season of AtlA Aang was caught ALOT of times, including by a similar net, despite being an airbending master. That's just the lack of combat experience. Agree with the rest.

Jinora is better at Spiritual connection than Tenzin but at combat, Tenzin is better. 🌪

Subtly, Tenzin is actually the most lethal Airbender we actually see. So many broken bones would have to happen from his gusts, let alone the guys at 1:58.
