I remember my first real-life run in with a sloth. I was at a zoo in an area where they have birds and crocs and other animals in open tanks. I had a backpack on and was standing near a small tree looking around then something grabbed my backpack and then claws patted my hand from behind. Apparently a sloth had been put up in the tree to de-stress after some demonstration and it thought I was a great perch. Took the handler a minute to pry it off because it had its face pressed into the backpack like it was a pillow. I didn't even know how to react to the world's slowest assault I just stood there because I had NO idea what was holding my hand and grabbing my bag. It was cute as hell.

I was in Colombia as a kid, and a neighbors father brought him one as a pet (different breed tho) from some business trip. Friendliest animal I've seen, used to love climbing up on people. Would instinctively know to stop at the neck and not climb the face, top 10 memories as a kid

They're freaky, No fear at times, No known natural predators either. When they pretend they're scared and run...I think it's a fake out to make us look that direction while they circle back to flank. You're lucky you seen it in front of you.

I love David. He is very respectful to the animals unlike some experts I've seen who seem to want to provoke the animals in to doing stuff. Also, he is very informative, and leaves the jokes to Conan, where as you don't learn as much from other experts because they're busy trying to crack jokes and take the limelight.

It's incredible how much calmer and attentive Conan is around his animal expert once a sloth is in the room. That's probably why therapists often include animals in mental treatment, e.g. in cases of burn out, hypochondria: Animal balance really devolves to people's mental distress. 😊 FYI: Needless to say, my point is not that Conan normally acts somewhat sick nor that he's a bad host (he's actually a whole lot more natural around animals and their experts than other tv hosts... Yes I'm talking to you, Fallon!), just how much more he actually lets David share his knowledge about the sloth... compared to other animal episodes).
