Hi Amy! For chores, I always taught them things with my future daughters-in-law in mind (boy mom, no girls). They started doing their own laundry and cleaning kitchen at 10. Started learning to properly cook at 12. Bathrooms and basic other chores around 9. They’re both very great husbands who don’t have gender stereotypes or expectations!

My son is 3 and has Autism. He started at 11 months in Early Intervention. We have seen a lot of growth so far. He has just started full time school with a lot of therapy added into his day. This week the therapist we have been working with and the school therapist/teachers told us they believe he may be gifted!! He knows all his letters in sign language and is very smart. Honestly it’s a lot to take in but it’s amazing how much he has learned in the past couple years. Feeling blessed that we have a twice gifted child. It’s truly amazing! ❤

Hi Amy! I looked at chores this way with my sons. Their main chore was school. They had to keep up with their school work through the week. Sports was also a must. At home, throughout the week, they took care of their rooms and bathroom ( more like a tidy). They also needed to put their sports clothes in the laundry room. Between school and sports, that was enough pressure on them. Sometimes too much! On the weekends, we did outdoor chores together. They knew to help and do when needy. You do you. Don’t worry what the Jones do. Just do what fits your family and your family needs.❤

My boys are 13 & 11 - chores are definitely done more in the summer. But we try to do a “Tidy 10” every evening where for 10 minutes we all hurry and get the tasks done. I work full time outside of the home so having everyone pitch in helps! The boys during the school year are in charge of their rooms, the bathroom (they rotate helping me when I clean it) and dishwasher.

Hi Amy!!! I have been working on organizing all of our digital files…photos, word documents.”, and different spreadsheets we have for tracking expenses. I also had a bunch of motivational screenshots that were taking over my phone. It was more harmfu, because it was overwhelming. I picked a couple of my favorites and wrote them in my journal. It’s kind of silly good news, but for me, it is mentally rewarding to not have that baggage. So I guess that’s my good news…for this week. I am getting through things. Thanks for the motivation!!!

We have a cruise scheduled leaving May 28th…2 ports of call are in the Bahamas…Freeport and Nassau. 1st excursion scheduled is in Freeport my daughter and her boyfriend are taking a Canoe trip. My husband and I are going to the beach. Nassau excursion is a family day…. We are “swimming” with dolphins. We are looking forward to our trip.

Thanks for the motivation! I'd love to see the Grove and Target haul :). We have old drains, so thanks for sharing the Mrs. Meyer's drain maintenance solution. I'm going to give it a try. Unfortunately, my garbage disposal thing doesn't come out like that, so I have to try to clean it while it is in place. I try to clean it once a week, and I use the disposal pods from Grove. I love how those smell! I'm glad you are all feeling better. I'd have to say one positive thing this week is that I get a couple of days home with my family during their Spring Break.

Good news: I am an LPN in Statesboro, Ga. I am currently going back to school to get my EN. My good news is I just finished all my core classes for my RN and can apply to the RN program in May. We are in the 30’s here in north central Indiana. 🥶🥶🥶. I cannot wait for summer! Thank you for the motivation today! I’m almost two and a half weeks out after an emergency appendectomy. Happy Saturday!!! I’m so late in watching this week but all for good reason. I decluttered all my clothes, kids clothes, towels, and linens. I got rid in 10 big bags of thinks we didn’t need! I was using my inner Amy!!! Lol thank you for the motivation. These videos help my day to day life. Not sure if you know how much you help us keep life organized. Thank you 😊 🙏🏻 I have so many more things to do. Yesterday I did my fridge and freezer. Still don’t love my bins but I may use them for pantry instead. Try different ones for freezer. I'm glad you are feeling better! I use The Pink Stuff, Mrs. Myers products, and the Tineco iFloor2 all on your recommendation. Each is AWESOME! I second cleaning the parts of the Tineco every now and then to keep it "fresh." I am 51 years old and been through the local and travel sports with all three of my children. Between practices and weekend tournaments, and working outside of the home, my cleaning was lacking. I did do certain things certain days of the week-to break it all up. I enlisted my children as well to help out. But every once in a while, I would have a crash day-I just didn't feel good, and I felt as though my body was MAKING me rest. I could have pushed myself to clean and declutter, but I needed that time "off" to recharge mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I would feel guilty for taking those days off, however, now, I embrace those days. Sometimes, God just works like that. I always enjoy your videos and "product testing" and "product recommendations." Hi Amy, considering your children’s school is 30 minutes away, you are doing a great job maintaining the house chores and driving them to activities. I went through a time that our school was 1/2 hr away. Hubby agreed that we move close to school so life would be easier for us. There will be even more activities and challenging curriculum with AP classes etc. Their time is golden. My kids did minimal chores back then, but they weren’t messy kids. Time flies, they will soon leave home and go to college. Enjoy this time while you can.

Our kids do their own laundry (9,11) so they're supposed to check their laundry daily so they don't get stuck with multiple loads over a weekend. They are also in charge of taking out trash and recycling or at least checking those daily. On the weekends, they clean their bathroom (I don't make them do the interior of the toilet, yet). I have a detailed white board with a checklist for the bathroom tasks so it's broken down into smaller items plus specifying what they use to clean which surfaces. We do share time with their other parent so "daily" tasks are more like 2-3 week days and weekends are every other weekend chores.

When I was growing up I was responsible for my room, putting dirty clothes where Momma asked me to, and I had to do the dishes every night (no dish washers). I was a straight A (mostly) student and my parents told me that was my job- getting my school work done. Summers I washed the clothes and cooked some to help out, Saturday’s I did whatever they needed me to.

I have that exact same Tineco vac/mop and it is the best thing ever, and so affordable!! 100% recommend it! But yes, need to clean it immediately after. Doesn't take me more than 2 minutes!!

Oh my gosh yes re: garbage disposal. Several years ago I learned it came out when I thought I broke it and was totally disgusted. So now as a renter when I move in I always do a quick pre-clean and the garbage disposal is a must. If you have a weird smell coming from it and using disposal cleaners doesn’t work… it’s likely this rubber seal.

Just finished the video…I THINK you may have been at 8 loads of laundry. Keep going girl! Your videos are really motivational even for people who like to clean there houses! 🙂 For me it is strange the fact that you wash most of your clothes in a cold or tap cycle! I don’t know de conversion but here in Portugal (Europe) I wash most of my clothes in cycles of 40°C and sometimes at 60°C for bath towels and sheets! All the microfiber towels go on a 90°C cycle which I believe is your hot cycle. Hi Amy! My daughter is a teenager, and she is responsible for keeping her room and her bathroom 🚽 clean. However, her afternoon activities interrupt that. But, on the days she doesn’t have activities, she catches up with the chores she didn’t do. I find her chores are flexible, and so I don’t get on her too much bc kids get tired too:) Ok, back to that 🧼 motivation lol 🧹🧼🧽🧺🏡

We went to the Bahamas over Christmas this year. We stayed at Atlantis and it was so much fun! So much for the kids to do, the pools and slides and what not are great. We had the kids go to the kids club and the teen club one evening and the adults went to a fancy dinner and played in the casino for a bit. Both kids had a blast at the kids club. We took a boat to one of the other islands and that was the best part of the trip. It was called Sany Toes Rose Island. Well worth the money.

It’s so different from how I grew up. Our parents never made us do chores. They told us to be live it up and be kids. Now my sister and I are out of the house. We’re still young in our twenties and we are really clean. Our friend group say we have the cleanest houses out of our group. I just had a little girl and I don’t intend to have her do chores either. Probably just make sure her room is clean before friends come over. You would think us not having to do chores would reflect on how clean we are later in life but it didn’t matter. Also I have been to Turks and Caicos which is off of the Bahamas. We stayed at beaches resort which is a great family friendly resort. It’s the family version of the adult only sandals resorts. They had a reef right down the beach that you could snorkel and see really cool stuff.
