we went here from Maine 08/18/2023. We considered last year to be the 50th, for it wouldve been the 50th anniversary of the crimes. it was super hot out, but glad we got to go. super special to be able to have been there. we got some cool pics and grabbed some asphalt from the road.

@AdamWasHere The Franklin place in the movie was located across the street from the Leatherface House. In about 1977 the house burned.From what I read, it was abandoned, and kids liked to hang out and party. Eventually,it burned down. Some fans have collected limestone that held the house up at one time. I didn't know if anything of it was still remaining or not.

@@franksamillion oh no, as you can see, there’s nothing left to explore on the land/lot. That old house would’ve been where the highway is currently on and the highway has been here since the early 2000’s.

Awesome thanks! I was considering parking at the nursing school next to the apartments and just walking along the fence to the top, but is that trespassing? I would rather follow in the steps of an expert!

@@AmandaBeck-e1n ha, it’s trespassing no matter how you do it! The road is shut down and gated off for a reason, but you gotta get past it to access and walk up it. I only know of the one way I show it in my videos and haven’t done it any other ways so I can’t comment otherwise. Just know, it’ll be HOT and the growth up front near the gate should be full fledged this time of year and after all the rain we’ve got recently. Once you get past the initial wall of growth though, it clears up pretty good, just watch for thorns and wears pants and closed toe shoes, if you can.
