Thank you. I'm doing a frame up restoration and half those parts were missing when I took it apart.

Thanks for doing this. I just have a chassis to rebuild and no idea of how this all went together. Now I have. Brilliant.

not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you are stoned like me during the covid times then you can stream all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my brother lately =)

It should be noted that when the clutch lever shaft assy. is installed correctly both 'ears', as Scott describes them, should be in near vertical positions. Then the clutch cable is adjusted to get the correct throw out bearing clearance [about 0.025"], when the clevis & pin slip into the inside ear without moving it off the vertical. In part 2 @ about 8.30 minutes on, the rod [& there are some different length ones around, to confuse some] should similarly mate with the outside vertical ear. Some rods have been fabricated to be adjustable & others may have heim joints.

The Ball Stud Bracket used is a new type right, for the OEM type did not have the nuts welded to it. It took two each 1/4 bolts , nuts and lock washers to secure it to the frame. Must say, the new style is easier to mount. Guess G503 parts sells it.

Sylvain Giraud My CJ2A is like as you describe. The kit I am using is from Joes Motor Pool, available at Ron Fitzpatrick Jeep Parts. Great observation, and thank you for you comment👍

Although not original, I wanted to make sure these high wear parts could always get lubed. I drilled 3 holes and threaded some zerk fittings so I could grease it well.

dino falabrino good idea. These vehicles were made to last 90 days in the field. It’s amazing they are still with us. I would love to see your modifications. Always improving and moving forward. Thank you for you comment👍

Mark Cover I could and probably will in the future. However the Jeep community is very well connected. There are some very respected peers and friends of my who are experts on this subject. Stay tuned😉👍

How do you replace the cable without pulling the entire thing apart?
@TeamG5034 жыл бұрын
It’s difficult, but can be done. You have to fish the cable back into the bell housing. A bright small light helps. If your lucky, the fork didn’t come off the fulcrum on the throw out bearing.
@peerplaut4 жыл бұрын
@@TeamG503 unfortunately I didn't get lucky. I'm trying, and maybe unsuccessfully to get the fork back in without removing the thing. I have a plan, it may not work, but at least I have a plan. If this fails, I need to remove the transmission. Correct? I have the drive shafts off at the differentials, four wheel drive levers out, I can get the tranny top off and then drop with my transmission jack. Thouhts? Oh, and thanks for the help. This has been a nightmare. I paid a dude to do all this for me.. and well we know how that can sometimes end.

OK- with some finagling I think I got it. I am using the CJ-2A service manual as a guide and it looks right.
