We sold our March 1989 4Runner (very last of the first Gen model) in Silver in 2020. We sold it with only 88K miles and never ever went off road. We bought it brand new but my wife had a stroke and could not drive a standard any longer. We miss the vehicle. Very nice paint and body work.

Looks like a TON of work went into this and job well done! I'm curious, would it have been more cost effective to scrap the original beat up fenders and panels for fiberglass ones and primed/painted those instead?
@RideRevival_Outdoor3 жыл бұрын
Thank you, it was! The above is a valid point. I play this game with all these repairs. once you factor in the R/I time, and panel fitment, it is far more economical to fix these, not to mention they are vin stickered fenders and would not be OEM. very good point!
@bckicker3 жыл бұрын
@@RideRevival_Outdoor so the R/I is quite labor intensive and simply fixing the original panels could be the better option? Obviously on a case by case basis... I’ve seen a few DIYers do the R/I with the fiberglass panels from ToyotaFiberglass.com and they said it was fairly straightforward. I’m juggling the idea of fixing some rust spots in my wheel wells vs. buying fiberglass panels. The rust isn’t too crazy but the body shop has already considered using fiberglass panels instead. Just trying to choose the best option. I would love to retain the original panels, but not ever having to worry about rust on them would be nice too!
