Ishizu in the dub hyped up the God Cards as more powerful than Exodia. I don't know how that would sell as even the anime versions of the god cards would be a trio of boss monsters with near blanket immunity vs. a flush of cards with an instant win condition as long as they are assembled in hand. Maybe if you include OCG/TCG Holactie, but then the duel just becomes a race to see which player pulls out their Instant win condition first

Maybe she meant in real life? Not as cards? Cus I’m the anime the cards are spirits of real monsters/creatures/people or something like that. Exodia for example, was a creature so strong they had to cut him up into 5 pieces. The Egyptian god cards may not be that strong individually but together they could beat exodus in a fight? Lore wise, I think Exodia still beats obelisk. From the sheer fact that Exodia was at least able to put up a fight and injure Zorc, while the gods got bodied.

Yeah the only thing that really stopped Exodia winning was his summoner being too weak to handle his power. If the Pharaoh was wielding Exodia there's a chance it could have beaten Zorc imo.

No. The three gods attacked zorc and knocked him out. Then zorc returned, caused an eclipse and beat them one by one. The gods together lasted a helluva lot longer fighting zorc than exodia and managed to knock him out. Exodia stalemated zorc briefly but eventually lost. Several times it was said the gods were the most powerful beings in that world only rivaled by The blue eyes white dragon.

@sliferxxxx Obelisk along with Slifer and Ra, did no lasting damage to Zorc. Exodia, by himself, tore his limb off before going down. And that was Exodia at, arguably, his weakest. One on One? I think Exodia could pull it off.

Exodia tore an arm off and traded blows with Zorc but still got knocked out. The 3 gods put zorc into the ground, and for a brief moment Yami and everyone else thought they'd won. That's until zorc caused an eclipse and reintroduced the darkness.

The reason quintet magician ability didn’t activate is because you used the exodia head and the right arm piece twice to summon him up it must be 5 different spellcasters to nuke the field

The card is very temperamental. For example it should be unaffected by other card effects but its att was lowered. And I have gone through hell to summon it before to have it removed from play by a level 4 card.. raaaage lool

As much as I love the gods especially obelisk and slifer, I gotta give it to exodia. He got me hooked on the series on the first episode, he does destroy all monsters once he's summoned and wins the duel so it leads towards him, however there could be lore we don't know or wasn't told. If Yugi was playing the Exodia deck, he would win every duel before it even started. He has the power to draw the perfect card every time, so he could consistently draw all 5 pieces of Exodia right off the bat in every duel he plays in That’s why they got rid of the Exodia pieces in the beginning of the anime; because they would have made the anime boring or nonsensical (and they wouldn’t have been able to sell the other cards).

Technically speaking, if you get all five pieces of Exodia you just straight win the game even if the opponent has all three egyptian gods on the field. I never understood how in the anime, Ishizu justs tells kiba the Egyptian gods are stronger than exodia. Yeah, they were busted in the anime but if your opponent summoned exodia, it's gg no read no matter what. Unless they had another effect that said that prevents you from auto losing if the god is on the field which would have been funny to see lol
