I've seen a lot of Voltanis back in the day, they usually not using him if he's going to be the sole monster, usually people use just 1 tribute and immediately battle, to save your normal summon later on. He just tribute 2 of his ace cards with essentially minus 3 when summoning him in the first game.

Love this episode. I played both Charlie and Milano's decks at this time. I miss counter-fairies so much. They were such a good way to solve the problems with an otherwise mediocre card type (aside from Solemn). So many of the counter traps minused you from discards or tributes. Artemis tied them all together.
