Drees, Ryan and Fischer are all large scale production homebuilders that throw up houses quickly with cut corners. Look for an individual smaller custom builder who will take more care. Daniels, Lucke and deStefano put up extremely well built custom homes. Pricey but fabulous. In My Opinion.

No question that the production home builders you mentioned have a different process and are aiming for speed. It's a very different process with a custom home builder. Usually, much more attention, but a longer and more expensive process. So, just depends on what your goals are. Another fantastic local custom home builder is Five Daughters Construction.
