I honestly think any new RE movie adaptations should adapt either 4 or 7. They're not as bagged down by Raccoon City or other continuity stuff, and they have very simple premises pf "Rescue President's Daughter from a cult" and "Find Wife who have been kidnapped by Hillbillies with superpowers"

I’ve been fascinated by the RE movie franchise since the beginning. Turning those games into movies should be a no-brainer but they keep making dumb, silly decisions. Case in point, basing Welcome to Raccoon City on the first two games when 2 and Nemesis already have overlapping stories. They could’ve condensed the first game into an in media res opening where Alpha Team is already getting its shit bopped at the Spencer Mansion. Then we get a “three months later” jump to Jill still investigating Umbrella and Leon’s first day at work, and we follow the games’ plots from there.

The problem with launching a Resident Evil movie franchise by just doing straight adaptations of the games is they don’t follow the same protagonists. You have Jill and Chris in the first one, Leon and Claire in the second, Jill and Carlos in the third and so on. You can do that with video games because we’re used to a lack of continuity in sequels, but it’s just gonna confuse movie audiences who expect the same core characters every time. The best approach would be to condense the first game into the first 10-15 minutes with a focus on Jill, then do a time skip and follow the second and third games from there. Sure it basically means no Chris, Barry, Wesker, etc, but it’s the most efficient way to set the world up and introduce as many key characters as possible.

Still completely baffled by the appeal of Final Fantasy, honestly, but I am glad for all the series' fans. Witha bit of luck the game's success on PC will assure a good budget and enough time in the oven for part 3.

I Have To Say This But as Much as I Loved The Resident Evil Movies I'd sooner watch Stay Alive which I will watch this year 3000 times and It'll be All In The Family by Comparison

They can reboot it as many times as they want, perhaps "hiring a creative team that feels passionately about the story they're telling" should be their first step. Game devs need to get over porn mods. Seriously, it's embarrassing at this point. I'm not sure I've ever cringed harder than when Ken Levine "requested" people stop using Elizabeth for lewd content because "she's based on my daughter." Duder. I'm afraid that's on YOU, not the Internet. Still not as cringe as people whinging that "more people playing more games" is bad for the industry.

Oh I think I think that computer versions of Resident Evil movies are good two parts of the CGI movie I think they had to go with this computer live action they obviously can't get it right had no desire to watch the new one so yeah there's only like maybe two or three Paul Anderson Resident Evil flicks in my collection that actually watch all the time but I think they should leave this franchise alone obviously they can't make a good movie 🤬🤬

As an old dude i have absolutely no hopes about this reboot. RE1 scared the 💩 of me when i played it as a kid, ever since then i have been a huge fan, and a very disappointed fan regarding the movies. 5th time the charm!? Or how many reboots/tv-series there has been… haven’t kept track as they all suck..
