I think that makes sense - they'd just have to market it a little differently. A dampened clicky switch might actually be pretty nice for people that like the click but not a harsh bottom-out.

Yeah this might actually work with the relatively clean click sound of a clickbar. A silenced Cherry clicky switch keyboard would probably sound like someone shaking a kinder egg.

Very timely! I just got a bag of these today myself. *Suggestion,* if possible: try these north-facing (LED-window up) with some Cherry profile keycaps, and compare them with regular BOX switches and/or other silent switches. The top housing has a different profile, which I'm betting makes a difference.

I like the new intro. I think a clicky switch with dampers is a good idea. I generally put o-rings on clicky switches to damp them on the downstroke. I'd like it damped on the upstroke as well. The quality of the sound is very important to me. I like to avoid extraneous rattle and have the sound more consistent. Though I would prefer the dampers to be easily replaceable.

I really miss switch teardowns. Knowing the design engineering behind switches has always been the appeal of keyboards for me. Hope to see you take a look at Outemu Snap Spring switches, since those're probably the last big innovation in a mass market clicky switch since the click bar was introduced.

I’d be really interested to see what you think of the Outemu Silent Sky tactile switches. Recently got some and lubed em and they’re easily my favourite switch out currently.

I can't wait to see your review on these switches. I ordered 90 about a month ago and used them for a day before i had to replace them. They were absolute garbage. almost half of my switches double activated as if the switch contacts were bouncing. Some switches were worse than others. It will be interesting to see if this is a widespread issue or if I just got unlucky.

Ive had the same on a batch of box pale blue. I contacted novelkeys support and they sent replacements. A few of the replacements had issues too. I don’t suppose you have these in a hotswap board? I finally decided it was the combination of my hotswap board and these switches causing the chatter.

Ordered the silent browns. Can’t wait to get them in! I have some Hako Royal clears that I want to try out the bottom housing on the silent brown along with the heavier springs to see the outcome. I would imagine the heavy leaf spring would make for a better tactile event? Any way.. I can’t wait to see your proper review on these!

Have you tried some durock switches? I'm quite interested with the T1 switches especially. How's the tactility, smoothness, wobble, etc (still contemplating whether or not to get them compared to outemu ice purples that are half the price here)

On the subject of silenced clicky switches, I'd kinda like to see a tactile switch with a silenced clickbar as the source of tactility. It probably wouldn't be all that silent, but maybe in line with a non dampened tactile. I really quite like the clickbar style tactility, I just don't always want that amount of noise

Very interesting. I'm hoping Novelkeys does a silent Burnt Orange. My normal Burnt Oranges have gone slightly clicky and the sound is worse than the MX blues i used to use, if much quieter

I have a set of these new pinks, and I cannot for the life of my figure out how to get them functional enough to type on. I love the feel, but... ...they seemingly randomly double-type constantly!
