Been using the IKEA Shortcut (and I have a ton of them all over the house) with a Zigbee 3.0 USB Dongle (as a co-ordinator) and Zigbee2MQTT / HA and they are just awesome, reliable and value-for-money. Dont use them with the crappy IKEA Tradfri Smart Gateway as it does not expose what this shortcut button is really capable of. With my setup, it exposes 4 actions (single, double, hold-down and hold-up, and of course the linkquality and battery level changes). I would highly recommend this shortcut if you get it paired with a Zigbee 3.0 USB or bridge. One of my implementations of this is actually the PANIC button/s and it is tremendously useful !

That dimmer only works with the Tradfri Driver. ....I hope, cause I just ordered it for my driver. Ikea FUN!!!

If it's Zigbee 3 compliant, why does it need a Tradfri gateway? Shouldn't it be compatible with Smart Life Gateways for example?

I'm asking the same question! I have Zigby and Zwave gateway and it does not work together :(
