I have 4 of theses 220 plus. I keep one in each of my tool bags and have used them daily for about 3 month now. I haven’t had any issues with any of them. But after seeing the wobble in the video I went and checked all of them. They all do have a slight wobble on the collet but theres not much if any on the shafts. The bits them selves do have very slight movement.

What style bits do you use in them? The intended Japanese style or the type most commonly found in America?

Really glad you did a tear down. I was really concerned about the durability of mine because I have the same amount of wobble. So far I've daily driven this for work in lighting maintenance for over a month. I'm careful not to over torque it on stuck fasteners and I've dropped it a couple of times. It's worked out great for me, I always run in to really long machine screws and the clutch always sets them in perfect.

Thanks so much for the teardown most interesting, so you just saved my pocket I was going to buy one, but it's all too small, and I don't think it will have a long life! Well done in getting it all back, but I don't think you will stop the wobble as the front has only plastic.

These are really good for electronics. I work in a repair shop of sorts and I have one at every bench. And I keep a keychain on my personal one with some bit holders for commonly used bits.

I love mine for assembling and disassembling electronics. Yes it has a wobble but it does not impact operation.

"The Algorithm" . . has been recommending these Vessel ball grip drivers to me for a solid week. So, I thought I'd watch one. It turned out to be this one. I've never watched your videos before. I'm intrigued enough to follow your YT channel and Amazon affiliate link. You appear to review some items of interest to me. Thank you for being a content creator. Greetings from the great state of Alaska.

Your wish may come true. The EU has just passed a law requiring all gadgets phones incl to have user replacable batteries without the use of special tools to remove. So next couple of years going to see a massive change . A kick for nitecore and apple alike.

Lol I’ve been using this for two months on low speed because I thought low speed was high torque. But I guess the high speed is highest torque. The package is in Japanese, so thanks for this video haha. I don’t recommend long and heavy bits like 6inch with this because I feel it loses leverage and slows it down. I also don’t recommend hand torquing too tight because I have heard clicking/crunching when going too tight, and I don’t want to test the breaking point. I use with the vessel three inch double ended bit and love it !

Great video, I too wish the screwdriver had tighter tolerance with no play. Vessel could fix this perhaps it may cost a little more but it would be worth it.

Nice teardown. Interesting to see the guts as I'm not taking mine apart. I have a 2D-E (no number after the E) which seems identical as far as I ca tell that I purchased about a year ago and it doesn't wobble like yours. Wonder if they've 'cost reduced' the current model in some way?

Wow, lol. Thanks for this unintentional teardown. I got a no-name (Eravor???) variant of these from Amazon Vine last year, and didn't really think much of it when I first tore it apart. I certainly didn't expect a gearbox inside (I was primarily interested in seeing what size battery it used, as well as seeing what the wiring and connections looked like). But, thanks for giving me the silly idea to pop it open again to inspect, and it seems it has practically the same design as this. I'm not sure what kind of grease this is (something blue, and seemingly very dry and sticky?), but it also seems disappointingly sparse like your unit. Just washed all the gears and bearings in some acetone, and replaced with a drop and a dab of SuperLube oil and grease (G1) similar to your application. Probably not necessary, but eh, I'm happy to tweak my tools for better performance or longevity. So, thanks again for this inside look and inspiration! (FWIW, while I think my unit's just fine, the Vessel drivers do seem to have slightly better fit and finish, with higher quality plastics, plus those varying drive modes, whereas mine is a single speed.)

I have only had mine for a few weeks and today got caught in some light rain. It was in my tool belt and must of copped a bit of water. It now is stuck on reverse and will only stop spinning if I put in on charge.

I've got mine about a month ago, it was after I bought the single speed one, which I really love but sometimes its too fast! so I wanted to get one where I could lower the speed. Well unfortunately I saw the wobble right away and was very disappointed as the single speed one have absolutely no wobble. I thought I got a lemon but now looking at yours, I think this is a flaw in all of them.
@aussiehardwood6196
@aussiehardwood6196 Жыл бұрын
Wow, so your saying the single speed units dont have any wobble or play, that's interesting. Do you prefer using the single speed models over the 3 speed because the mechanism is tighter or does it not bother you? I presumed they would all have that slop and if what you say is corrects I might just get either the high or slow speed model.

Is that a hard drive on a DIN rail? EDIT: I see it’s not, later in the video. Something from Omron :) I’ve been doing a lot of stuff with DIN rails recently and really love being able to assemble arduino projects and sensors on a DIN rail and then move it into my car or RV as a sub assembly.
