Main differences from the V1 Stormbreaker I own and modded: The pads on the sides of the clicks are there to prevent side-to-side movement, but on the V1, there was only 1 pad on one side each for the left and right clicks, which were woefully ineffective in reducing side-to-side movement on the clicks. It looks like they've considered this with the newer versions, but disappointing the older ones can still have horrible side-to-side movement out of the box. There's also 2 additional pads lining up an area around the back of the shell. This padding helps reduce creaking when applying downward pressure onto the back of the shell as one would commonly do in a claw or palm grip. The creaking used to be a dealbreaker (pun intended) because the separate top shell and bottom shell didn't align well enough, causing an uncomfortable amount of movement when applying downward pressure on them during use. On the V1, there were no pads on the main clickers, so it looks like a new or relatively recent addition. Previous V1 Stormbreakers had issues with too much pre-travel on the right click, causing a bump feeling before the clicker actuates the switch, so that's a good improvement from Pwnage. However, their QC wouldn't catch this issue in their older versions even to this day, and I strongly believe that amount of pre-travel should NOT be within acceptable tolerances for the main clicks, because it affects the main use of the mouse which is the clicks and click feeling. I don't have any confidence in Pwnage to continue properly vetting out or adjusting bad copies which is much more common when working with magnesium shells. The pads also serve as a buffer from the raw magnesium physically touching the plunger, creating a slightly different feeling when clicking. The pads on the switches themselves are there to adjust the pre-travel of the clicks as well, because the stem below the clicker contacts the housing of the switch itself and you can create more distance between the clicker and the plunger (adjusting pre-travel) by adding a layer of material in between the housing of the switch and the stem. It looks like they paid attention to customer complaints, or decided to address these issues themselves, or both. I don't want to give Pwnage too much credit because they allowed these issues to go through QC and into the customers' hands at a premium price of around ~$169-$200 USD in their previous models. I would recommend getting a new one if you're looking for a smaller-medium sized ergo at a low weight and magnesium and you are set on the Stormbreaker, but I've seen enough from the community of how disappointing the issues were on the V1, a premium priced mouse, to recommend looking elsewhere.

Unfortunately, I bought this BLG edition, but it's a huge disappointment, especially the battery life. For such a premium product, this is unacceptable. And the software is terribly stupid. It would be great if the carbon MAX didn't have these issues, but I'll wait for the first tests and reviews.
