We got a good look at one of these that was on its maiden voyage. It was built by an east coast couple in their mid-70's, beautiful workmanship, they couldn't have been more pleased with it. We were at Canyon Lands during a spring snow storm and they were warm and cozy.

May i say that this is not a teardrop camper but a piece of art ,it need's to have its own place in an art gallery. Beautiful craftsmanship , still craftsman out there that can do beautiful woodwork . U can build gondolas and ship them to Italy

My boyfriend and I are planning on cross country-ing with a teardrop trailer for our honeymoon. This is beautiful and perfect for our needs as well as the fact we don't have the largest cars. This has to be by far the most beautiful design I've seen of a teardrop yet. My father and I have been looking into building one for a bit and you guys have made it even easier with the kit. We have already bought the manual. I did have one designed question. How much hight is there in the foot cubby. I was just wondering with an air mattress will I just keep kicking the top?

After building 2 teardrops, both on custom shop built frames, I can speak with experience when I say you have built an awesome body kit here! However the overall look is seriously brought down by the funky trailer frame you have perched it on top of. You might want to work on something that integrates into a more cohesive design package to produce a final product more fitting to the high quality woodwork!. Still a very cool kit!

I don't disagree, really, and would encourage anyone with sophisticated skills to beautify the trailer frame to suit. But remember that the target audience includes many beginners. If you want an affordable plug-and-play trailer option for simplicity's sake, this is what you end up with. -JCH

As shown in the photos, fully outfitted, the CLC Teadrop Camper is about 550 pounds. Kits start at $2000. If you check every single options box you end up at about $5000. Completed examples are selling for between $15,000 and $20,000.

A Teardrop Camper falls closer on the camping spectrum to a tent (a really, really nice tent) than it does to the Winnebago end of the scale. You could pack a large and comfortable tent for the kids. Set up a little portable compound, with the Teardrop as the kitchen and "master stateroom."

In some shots this rendition has 12-inch wheels, in others 8-inch wheels. It's made cross-country treks on both diameter wheels, about 15,000 miles total now. The 12-inch wheels LOOK right and doubtless are easier on the bearings and ride quality. There's no limitation on the wheel size you choose for yours. I've seen an amazing number of teardrops with rims that match the tow vehicle's 17-inch wheels...
