Friends it takes money to run a church nothing is for free. I grew up in the church the pastor had to pay light bill water any work that the building needed had to be fixed. Salvation is free but we need a physical building to gather and it takes money has nothing to do with getting rich. The more congregants come the bigger the project. Look at Muslims that have big temples and the Catholics they don't fuss about it have you seen those nice temples from the past from the Catholic church? It's beautifully hand made. People around the world travel to see such wonder. Yet not one says anything about the priest being super rich. I'm happy for Joel Osteen it shows he's been responsible handling money correctly. As a member of his church. That church was originally a actually stadium. It was the biggest stadium in Houston that held concerts, and events and basketball games. The congregation grew at their former church and a friend of Joel told him about the compact center. He originally wasn’t going to get it and let it past because he said he felt it was too big for them. But in prayer he said the Lord told him it will be his because he is going to increase his members and stretch his tents. The center sits about 14,000 people. The city had to actually vote on allowing Lakewood to be at the Compact Center. It was over a 3 year process and a lot of businesses tried to fight against them. Once they obtained the build to convert the building from a Compact Center to a actual church, that is where the loan came from. Joel said he was getting ready to panic but the Lord told him to trust Him. So it is converted in a church ANND a outreach center. It employs people, has a huge donation center where Lakewood has provided for thousands of homeless people in need of shelter or new homes. It also has a furniture warehouse that stores all furniture donations as well. Also not to mention because Joel Osteen doesn’t boast, but they have evangelized over 20 million souls when they travel around the world. That is a lot of people who have given their life to Christ. Joel Osteen is not a scammer. And the countless of lives that have changed at that church is incredibly!

In 2020 there is no way a Pastor can have a church in a house. We have to elevate our understanding and get out of our own reasoning. Also, he doesn’t take one salary AND his church flood in parts to his church around around his church. When the waters cleared they called for help to let people in. What I have learned from being a member at Joel Osteen church, it takes a LOT of resilience, emotional maturity AND focus to be a leader of that capacity. Why?
