Is my $200 junkyard engine junk? In this video I will remove the rusty exhaust manifold studs from the head to start. Then the process of pulling the engine off the stand (because the timing chain cover is on the rear of the engine) to pull the timing covers, chains, tensioners and guides off. Then back on the engine stand to crack this motor open and see what we are working with. I’ve linked all the tools I used down below, but I wanted to call out, I wish I had bought the bolt extractor set years ago, it is what I used to pull the rusted manifold bolts off originally and it made pulling the studs out super simple. Big shout out to Jeremy @ JFJ Autoworks for the recommendation.
