We don't know if the person driving has kids either. Regardless, you don't want to be the one who ends their story before it even starts though. That's almost a worse fate than the one that could have happened for the soon-to-be parents. That's what makes this ad so brilliant, it literally targets _everyone,_ regardless of demographic.

Great ad. Makes you think about what's important in life, and maybe changes your priorities as to what you want in a car, and finally, maybe makes you take a second and think... "Volvo, I wonder if there's some way I could afford one of those?" Let me at least take a look. I sure would like one if there's any way to do it. Subaru has a similar ad with a wife coming to the scene of an accident to pick up her husband and daughter who were in an Outback and were uninjured... Not as emotional as this one, not as perfectly crafted, but gets at the same point. Well done.

That ad is also very masculine, a positive example of masculinity who do not dump emotions on his partner but instead take the time to reflect, seek advice from his mother (a wiser figure) and get comfortable with his emotions in a soft, organized way.. and organized he wants to be, making efforts, taking the proper steps to step up to not only his life but his entire family and his future daughter. He has a mission that's greater than himself and he's accepting and relaxed about it. That's how you speak to men That's how you inspire men to be positive models, to be able to listen and also able to guide and blossom in their full potential You don't 'teach them' but insulting and accusing them of everything wrong in the world, or by making them more feminine in their looks and actions (no wonder why they're going crazy) R*bid feminists weren't even able to strategize their victory by inducing men to be the Aragorn type... no, they went to war and a lot of women sided with good men (while sh*tty men, especially male feminists, are spinning the lunacy to the worst misogynistic level imaginable)

There are also people (e.g. in india) who marry dogs. It's impossible to put representation of every single type of relationship out there into one add. It only becomes monotonous and draining to viewers. The volvo ad was precise to the point and hit home well with 99% of the population market.
@williambradford19592 ай бұрын
We are being tricked here! Although the commercial triggers emotional response in a very clever way (environment, buildup, release, shock, relief), try to look at it with pure logic. In it's core, the technology (the car) solves another technology caused problem (being distracted by a phone). This illustrates the technology fuckery what's going on in this world. Develop technology to solve the flaws from... technology. So the next commercial could be made by a competing car company who uses a new technology to avoid a false positive auto-breaking Volvo? I'm not buying it! I'll put my phone on flight mode before driving. Solved!
