Fun fact: If it wasn’t for Drew Barrymore this movie would have never happened. It was suppose to be made through a different production company, but they just didn’t get it and thought no one else would either so they dropped it. She saw the value of this film and produced it herself.

I'm ashamed to admit, but the first time I saw Donnie Darko I didn't "get" it. I expected a literal explanation to the finale. But I missed the point. I came back to it a few years later and began to absorb into this world of Donnie. Suddenly, it didn't need to make total sense. That is the beauty of it. And now I recognise it for the extraordinary film it is. The Catcher in the Rye of a new generation.

My mother and my brothers used to breathing clean air (nothing ever changes when you're acting your age) And dreaming I'm a doctor (nothing gets done when you feel like a baby) It's hard to be a man when there's a gun in your hand (nothing ever changes when you're acting your age) Oh, I feel so... Something happens and I'm head over heels I never find out till I'm head over heels Something happens and I'm head over heels Ah, don't take my heart, don't break my heart Don't, don't, don't throw it away And this is my four leaf clover I'm on the line, one open mind, This is my four leaf clover La la la la la, la la la la la, la la la la la la...
