These two are so underrated as musicians. Roland's vocal range always amazes me, and he's vastly under appreciated as a guitarist. Love them more now than I did in the 80s as a teenager. They've produced some of the best songs - ever. Well done!

Smith is a good vocal and bass player! Really nice music, extraordinary arrangement as the Orchestra adhered depth to the sound!

Always love it, when a rock band plays together with an orchester, gives so much depth in sound. And the marinba player, banging on the bottles, awesome idea!

I still have chills. I can’t believe how great they still sound.

Because they didn't need to fake their talent. They didn't use electronics, and studio singers to make records. They actually had to use the tools they had, and craft them. So, 10,20,30, even 40 years later they can still go out and perform

i was very lucky to be born in 85, my dad had this band on cassette and we used to listen to it all the time in the car, my favs were shout, everybody wants to rule the world, and i think head over heels was my favorite as i had a video tape with the music videos and interviews and the video for head over heels was funny. i still remember the guitar solos and as soon as the solo began it all came rushing back. what a great band. no matter what style of music you like this is accessible to all

Wow, so his voice is so good! So few singers can sing this tight. The dynamic range, the vocal power. In times of auto tuning this is so refreshing!

It's nice to see both of them on better terms and laughing and smiling the way that they used to do back in the day. :) I can't even remeber the last time I saw Curt crack a smile like he's doing right here. :) I guess everybody grows up sooner or later and Curt and Roland have definitely grown up here. :)

Ya' know, these guys don't generally fall into my usual preferences (Moody Blues, Pink Floyd etc) but, damn, they are really good. Orzabal can do anything he wants with his voice-unbelieveable musician. They have given us some highly different music

@pr3ttyb0n3z28 жыл бұрын
bolthousetab I agree, this concert is like a fine wine - older, smoother, delicious and actually BETTER than them in their younger days. This song is perfect to show Roland's incredible voice and lyrical range. He's always been so distinct due to it's deepness but he pulls off possibly the most insane range of vocals I've seen bar Freddie Mercury. Totally different of course but Queen were know for pulling off combos of beats that were seen as impossible and Freddie's voice always stood out for complementing that as he could change the range and tone in a second. Roland is the same in that sense. You don't see it in their original clips yet live you do, he's able to change pitch despite being such a deep voice. His voice has become better with age, that's insane to see.

very original take on the song glad to hear this and it's bound to happen that people confuse the covers as being original but Tff are such a brilliant band and have been a great influence on so many British Bands there are a signifigant number of covers of Tff songs whereas the bands who cover them have basically dissappeared off the planet hope to hear more!!

Thank God for the 80's. Out of all performances or bands/singers I have dealt with and seen live it's ALWAYS those from the 80's that have voices that are perfection. How many current artists will be able to perform in 20-30 yrs and sound just as good? Lady Gaga possibly, she has the vocals I admit. But the Kanye West's/Biebers etc (ugh) will look and sound like shit simply because they never had the talent to start with and without internet quite simply wouldn't exist. THIS is talent, what utterly incredible vocals. We have so many amazing bands/singers here in Aus that still tour to sell out crowds 30 yrs on and this is why.
@pr3ttyb0n3z28 жыл бұрын
Oops...came out the wrong way. I didn't mean Tears for Fears are Aussies, I know they are from the UK. I meant it to compare regarding the live performances of those that started small in the pubs in the 70's and 80's and then hit the big time. Some of the best touring bands are from the 80's and from the UK or Aus. We are finally seeing Icehouse live, one of our biggest bands here. Their live shows are insane, Iva's voice is like Roland's - distinctive yet hasn't changed at all.
@CelesteK14 жыл бұрын
I like Roland, I like Curt, I like the xylophone player, I like the drummer, and the rest of the band. Everything about this performance is good with the exception of those back up singers who have no concept of what's called "personal space!"

@Ironmanissocool It's because of these two guys that Tears For Fears even exist. They are often imitated but never duplicated. Many have tried to duplicate their talent but have failed miserably and who says that "real bands have 5 memebers?"?

Cracking song.One of my all time faves. But there is too much going on in this, too much noise. But tears for fears with their guitars around the middle of this is the best. My favourite guitar solo ever, gets me every time.
