⁠@@randallwilliamson3838clearly you don’t understand. If she left then Lord Staunton most likely would have surrendered and his forces would have joined Cole making it worse for Rhaenyra. Instead she stayed and fought. Lord Staunton and his men all died and didn’t betray Rhaenyra. Also, Meleys actually did stand a chance against Vhagar which is why she even attempted it. It is stated in the books Meyles could possibly beat Vhagar. And the idea if she did win, both the King and next in like to the throne would have been killed along with the biggest dragon basically ending the war right then and there. Her staying to fight was totally justified. You just cant think critically

Rhaenys was sent by Queen Rhaenyra to protect the people of Rooks Rest in this Battle. Just because Vhagar shows up to fight it doesn't mean the Battle is over. If Rhaenys had fled back to Dragonstone, running away from the Battle and Abandoning the people of Rooks Rest, Rhaenyra's claim would be viewed as weak. Like Queen Rhaenyra runs away when things get tough. That's the simple answer for Rhaenys's suicide mission. Put even simpler, there were still people to protect. By the Queen 👑 Who *ALWAYS* Was 💔 ❤️

You have to come to terms that almost all characters in this show will die in this war. That's why we will be seeing so much death of main characters mid season, finale etc... but enjoy the journey and the end of the show because its worth it :). Saddest part is seeing the Dragons die.... 😭

Something to think about too which makes things sadder, all these dragons have grown up and lived together. Rhaenys’s daughter Llaena used to ride Veghar, so Veghar and Meleys lived/flew together for years. Veghar used to be part of their family and ends up killing them both. When Daemon and Llaena were married, his dragon Caraxes and Veghar lived together. We even saw them flying together in season 1. Now they are on opposite sides of a war. The dragons are the real victims in this story. As much as I love the show, I’m not excited to see how everything unfolds.

Another fact to that , Before Llaena, Vhagar was ridden by Viserys\Daemons dad , Prince Baelon, while Meleys previous rider was viserys\Daemons mother, Alyssa Targaryen ... As a family they used to go for Rides in their dragons with Viserys and Daemon straped to their mother ...

This is why Rhaenyra was trying her best to avoid using the dragons in order to "win" the war. She is highly aware that team green having Vhagar poses a huge threat to all of them. The number of dragons don't matter as much when the others have the biggest dragon who is also highly experienced in battle (Queen Visenya being her first rider... enough said). Just as Rhaenys had told her previously, there's no war so bloody as the war between dragons.

I absolutely love the Alys/Daemon interaction in this episode - she is such a hoot! (pun intentional) Much more amusing and interesting a character than she is in the book. It's rare that someone is able to breezily play Daemon Targaryen like a fiddle, and yet she does. And she has a sense of humor.

daemon was only able to take him down by using his surroundings to his advantage. he hid above the clouds, then used the sun’s glare to blind aemond in his one good eye, and after that he darted down and attacked vhagar’s neck and wouldn’t let go. after that he jumps and puts the sword in his eye lol

I hate that I actually respect Aemond for being a man of action. He took his self improvement seriously. Trained and studied. He knows he's far stronger and smarter than his brother and a better choice in that regard for the iron throne. He simultaneously did what was in his best interests and arguably what was potentially the best for the realm. It was evil as fuck but he did it. I have a weird kind of respect for that kind of leadership by action. Don't get me wrong he's a monster but if there's anything that can be said about themes from House Of The Dragon it's that one of them is the idea that monsters have their place too.

"What is with his dreams." its mostly just that he's guilty. He feels guilty of using rhaenyra as a political tool and he feels guilty for killing the child. That's why we see blood on his hands, and why he sees himself as aemond. Because there is blood on his hands and he sees himself as no different/better from aemond. His dreams are actually quite easy to interpret compared to others Trust me it's good that we don't see all the battles on screen. Otherwise the burning mill would've been a battle entirely with non invested characters who all die and then this episode and the next two would've been Criston turning up, fighting and winning. These aren't even major battles of the war. It would move too slowly if every battle was shown Gwayne is alive

They didn’t cast an actor for Gwayne in season one not in case the actor dies (that wouldn’t make sense because my that logic ANY of the actors could die), it’s because it’s not a big enough role (yet) to attract a bigger actor. Legit actors don’t get cast to just stand there and do nothing until the next season unless you’re a newer actor. The actor that plays Gwayne is actually a fairly big actor.

The dragons are nothing more than victims of this war. Forced to fight, suffer and die all for sake of humans and their selfish needs. Sunfyre greeted aegon with love and trust, and aegon didn’t hesitate to get him killed (or very well near death). Meleys couldn’t beat Vhagar, and Rhaenys knew that.. she still had her attack anyway though. I have no sympathy for any of the humans in this show. They use the dragons as tools of war and could care less about any “bond” that these creatures feel towards their rider. The best thing they could do for them, is set them free. And let them live away from war, and the petty conflicts of man. But that will never happen unfortunately

Not being able to speak High Valyrian very well doesn't mean that Aegon isn't intelligent; some people just do not have much linguistic ability (my late mother tried very hard to learn Spanish, but could never properly speak even basic phrases, and she was quite an intelligent person). However, I suspect that Aegon was not interested in applying himself to a proper education, particularly subjects that did not come easy for him. He might also have felt that he would never be as good as Aemond was in the study of their ancestral language, and just slacked off and contented himself with teasing and mocking his younger brother with the help of his young nephews; because such things fed his ego (Aegon might have felt that he was supposed to be the smartest, since his grandfather expected him to be king one day and he was named after The Conqueror, and yet he was an indifferent fighter and not much of a student of history or politics, and he might have been disappointed and angry at himself, and started picking on Aemond as a reaction).

If you go back and watch the earlier seasons of GoT, they rarely showed battles either. The first proper battle we got was 2x9. But also, the battles that are happening aren't between people you care about so I doubt it matters much. Battles cost money but it would be fun to see a bit more of Criston in action. It's so funny that this is Criston's second plan that would've been great but he couldn't account for someone coming in to fuck it up! I like that when he got up he couldn't breathe. Falling from a horse in armor would do some damage. I know I'm the #1 Criston Cole defender but he really is having a go at it.

Meleys is the fastest dragon and Meleys fought Sunfyre, and Vaghar and after they dance and burn each other after the fight look closely you will some holes on Meleys wings. And she was tired and slow i just wish Rhaenys left after the damage she have done because her and Meleys are far important and Aemond is dumb to think attacking Dragonstone as Vermithor and Silverwing two of the largest dragon that is close to Vhagars size, Vermithor got the power and size and Silverwing have the speed and size the two of them can kill Vhagar easily ans adding four adults Syrax, Seasmoke and Sheepstealer that huge old dragon and the biggest and oldest of them all Cannibal way older than Balerion and Vhagar and i think he is way more bigger, and i think after Vaghar died Cannibal will eat Vaghar or other dragons. And Greens only have Tessarion and Dreamfyre even Syrax can handle the young blue queen Tessarion.

He’s not my favorite character but his story is tragic. Forced to be king, even at first he didn’t want to be. Tried to do best with the small folks but keeps getting manipulated by the council. Then had his child murdered. Also, the only being that loves him is Sunfrye, his dragon- no real family support whatsoever.
