This song hit home for Sue and brought her to tears. Ren and Chinchilla are on another level.
Thanks again to HR-wt5sy for the suggestion and also analisasmith7927 for doubling down on it.

This song was about his friend Joe Hughes who sadly took his own life at the age of 19 (jumped off the Menai bridge at around 3.00 a.m. on 28 December 2010). Ren wrote the song Freckled Angels about Joe and also dedicated the album of the same name to him

Sorry for your loss. I lost a close friend in 2019 to suicide. He was 49 years old. There is no making sense of it and it still sits in an uncomfortable place in my gut. Good man. Gone too soon. I wish he had just called me.

You need to experience the genius of his Jenny and Screech trilogy. Be sure to choose the one that says "Full". There are 3 parts that need to be watched in a specific order. The "Full" selection takes care of that for you, playing all 3 consecutively.

Came for the reaction, stayed for Sue. I wish you were my friend, tbh! 😸And I agree with you 100% when it comes to gifts. Like being able to see hearts where other's obviously isn't gifted with that ability... Seriously tho, your reaction is awesome. Both of you. But mostly Sue, haha! If you listen to the studiorecorded version it's filled with strings and other arrangements, and it's great, sure, but this....this is something else. This is probably one of the reasons I'm still alive. 5 months ago I was deeply suicidal, and then I found Ren. I think, in all honesty, that great art is what keeps most of us alive. Ren IS therapy! Thank you, both (but mostly Sue) of you, for letting me see you react to this. You've gotten yourself a new subscriber! A mentally unstable and somewhat disturbed one, but hey... I'm me! 🖤 xoxo From STHLM Sweden

Thank you so much for your comment, I struggled a lot when I was younger with depression and suicide, and it took me a long time to grasp that I had to find passions outside of my head in order to combat what was going on on the inside. Music was always one of my best friends and escape. Ren’s ability to put his experiences and emotions to music would have been a godsend for me back when I was a teenager, even now as an adult still dealing with a lot of feelings that come and go, I can truly see the appreciation his fans have for what he does. I think his biggest gift is not his musical talent, but simply to just provide people with hope and the want to not give up. I’m really glad you made it through and that you’re still here. Your comment means the world to me keep listening to his songs one after the other I continuously find new ones to relate to, my most recent is titled Dignity. We reacted to it may be about two weeks ago. I’m curious how you feel about that one. ❤️

Loving your reactions to Ren! in regards to Sue’s comments on gifts: we might not have been given Ren’s talent, but most haven’t been bedbound by undiagnosed Lyme disease, or treated with psychotropic medications that gave us psychosis, because the Lyme was misdiagnosed as bipolar and chronic fatigue syndrome. That gave Ren a lot of time to practice and write, and the experience gave him the emotional rawness that speaks to so many. Sometimes the small gifts are being able to even leave the house, or to engage in a routine that feels mundane and normal. Ren is one of those inspirational people that shows you what human beings are capable of, when faced with formidable obstacles. Will be back for more Ren, he has an absolutely incredible story if you guys want to learn more about him :)

Sue is correct in her attitude it seems to me. one of the most effective ways to undermine ourselves is to compare ourselves to others, Ren has put an enormous amount of time developing whatever talent he had to begin with. He also studied Music Performance at University. thereby learning techniques and methods to improve even further. Don't put yourself down mate. I'm sure you're a lot better than Ren at some stuff.

@@secondhandreactions really depends on the song... Some people pause more frequently and catch up, or rewind.. Others have them side by side... I see that many don't mind that you talk over the music. My view is that if we want to understand Ren talking over his words will never help. If you really must talk stop the music first. Much of what you say is perfectly valid. If you have to, stop it and talk or wait until the end. I don't need your words to know how Ren affects you. It can be seen in your expressions. I am going to stay with the two of you and see if anything changes because I can see depth in both of you.

I love their voices together, but find them difficult to watch because of Chinchilla's overly dramatic and fake movements that seem to be solely affected to show off her nails. Nothing wrong with a singer moving in lots of ways and common as they go for their big notes etc. but I just find when it looks contrived I find for some reason it grates on me. Less is more when you have a voice that doesn't need to be dressed up.
