thanks for this lesson, i learned to play this song about 15years ago, haven't thought of it or played it in a couple of lifetimes, tried to play it last night after watching the Clapton unplugged video on you tube, haven't even thought of this song in years. Then i thought, hey, i used to play that! I had completely forgotten--it's a good song to play. So i started trying to figure out how i used to play it, finding that i remembered some parts and not others. It was late so i was going to get back to it today after sleeping, thinking "I can figure this out," but anticipating some amount of struggle and frustration with it. Then i thought, "Hey!! You Tube!!", searched Tears in Heaven Lesson, and there was your video. Great. Actually a couple of parts that you didn't show close up,i still need to work on, but it all comes back now, and i like some inversions you used better than what i used to use, it has the feel of the original. The main reason i wanted to post a message is to say i loved your vocal, guitar too of course, but i think you sing it really well, moving but not overdone, real.

This is the first online guitar tutorial I've seen that shows not only the left hand for chord fingering, but also the right hand for the strumming. I can't wait to get to work on this song. Thank you for this wonderful lesson.
@mariacorreynamarimutoc91787 жыл бұрын
for those who are complaining about the verse. you should check out guitarlessons365songs tears in heaven tutorial. justin's and that tutorial, complement well. justin has more accurate chords (left hand), from eric clapton's version and that guitarlessons365songs really explained the verse and the right hand, what string to pick. hope it helps. 😁😁😁 thank you justin.

this isn't a beginner song. its complex. focus on much easier songs that strum not pick then after you get more and more time with various songs come back and try this again.

1. Try reading (simple) tabs bro something like those of Nirvana (The Man Who Sold The World and Come As You Are) and then work your way to that of Jimi Hendrix or The Beatles (particularly the songs that use a guitar solo from the chorus such as Here Comes The Sun) 2. Practice, practice. Do simple finger-stretching exercises after each session. Simple habits like fist-clenching, finger-twisting can do the trick. You can improve your dexterity by playing piano too. 3. Don't lose hope. Not yet. Good luck and Happy Birthday to John Lennon :)

Great lesson Justin as always. One remark: in the last chord of the verse Clapton holds the ringfinger on the D string 4th fret. So Bm7 grip of the previous chord is retained and the B note (A string / 2nd fret) is replaced by E (open 6th string). B string is not used.(E11 chord) Of course the E7sus4 like Justin plays it is ok too. But I do like the original chord like Clapton plays it best.
