8 hole pickguards are considered vintage so you can find them. Probably not on amazon though.

If it didn't make a buzz when you shipped it I wouldn't do anything to that guitar. Probably a stacked single coil. He wants black nothing he can do about that but change the guard..black nut why if he knows how to file a nut? And locking tuners why? String it over the top 1st and wind it bottom up. I do mine over the through string then starting the winde at the bottom up to the thread holes only because the string is lower to the nut. I may be wrong but I never had a problem with mine going out of tune with the top locked and stretched. I leave it. Torsion??

@TedTalksGuitars I sure do I love doing the upgrades. Just be careful sanding the neck pocket and drilling t neck holes to big not to deep and careful with the pickguard holes soit doesn'tchip buddy. . It's a beautiful guitar Ted.

I currently have a musiclily HSS artec alnico 5 pickguard in my ST-1, see it in my videos. Sounds great! Does it sound as good as the stock SSS pickups? It's hard for me to tell - I do have a comparison video taking about that (the better than modded? video). I'm going to replace the HSS config with SSS hotrails (again, musiclily), but just for aesthetics, I haven't heard what they sound like yet.

Thanks, bro. I watched your video. Thought it was cool that you were getting an assist from @JayceAllanGuitar. Not sure which way I am going to roll just yet. Still kicking it around. Rock on!
