This only became canon since Ocarina. Before that Ganon was just a thief (like the rest of the Gerudu) and not fated to be evil. Imagine if Ganon returned and used the Triforce of Power for some other purpose and not evil. It would be interesting.

Yes, I also like it when Ganondorf is played for sympathy in a story, it shows that despite how despicable his actions are, he was a man who was forced into the role he was in, in more ways than one and possibly deep down never actually wanted the life he has but he knows he cannot fight fate so he has no choice but to be the monster that people make him out to be

"Why did it have to be me?" What I love about that interpretation of both Link and Ganondorf is the idea that neither of them wanted to be who they are. Link is cursed to be the only person between the people of Hyrule and constant Eldricht abominations. Ganondorf is cursed to be killed, again and again, in an eternal cycle of death and suffering. No one in their right mind would ever want either fate.

I really enjoy how you wrote Ganondorf. He’s sympathetic, ambition and desire for his people overpowering any guilt, but still evil. On one hand, he’s dangerous and malicious, but you can’t help but pity the guy. Still, I think a “Ganondorf redemption” story is too much. After all, in some timelines, he gives into the evil with Ganon, sacrificing any humanity.

Yeah if Ganondorf gets redeemed ever it will kinda ruin his character in this regard, I think it’s best to have Ganondorf as a character who has done terrible things but has a sympathetic side and despite his true feelings, he can never find peace or redemption since he has no choice, it would make him more sympathetic while also staying true to his character.

Now that was an interesting concept...that Link and Ganon are both "chosen ones", destined to save their people in times of need. In this way, they are basically 2 sides of the same coin, similar to Luz and Belos, from The Owl House. This series is the best serious Zelda SFM series on KZbin hands down. I’ve always wanted a quality legend of Zelda animated show growing up and Nintendo was too afraid to do it. I always wanted to explore what happened to the Hero of time after Majora’s mask, and learn how he felt about everything he had gone through. In the shot of Link swinging his sword for ganondorfs head, you can clearly see that ganons sword isnt drawn. Interesting.... perhaps he doesnt come to kill Link? Or maybe Link is just too fast? The look in his eye before he is struck, (when he closes his eyes) he doesnt even look surprised. Maybe he's concentrating to use his magic? Whatever happens... yall know this is gonna be a masterpiece. Amazing job MajorLink! The animation quality, the music, the story, the use of og sound effects and text bubbles, its all outstanding!! I think this was just made for the teaser, to illustrate Ganon's POV on the curse. In the post creds of ep4 it was heavily implied that he struck Link and that's how he lost his eye in preparation to become the Shade

I opened up the KZbin app on my phone, and the first thing that popped up was one of your videos. I got very excited for a moment as I thought that episode 5 was here alas! However, it was one of your Twilight Princess animations from 5yrs ago showing up in my recommended instead. I was a little bummed, but then noticed this teaser posted, and I honestly have to say I am more excited for episode 5 now than I was before. Am I getting a little impatient? Yes. I think we all are. This series has me all choked up haha I'm a 29 year old man tearing up over a Zelda cartoon and I never understood why people would tear up over film before but it's brought me so much joy and nostalgia and showing me everything I've been wanting in The Hero of Time's story. One of my friends whom is also a major zelda fan, (much like myself) showed me this channel and series about half a year ago I'd wager now. The N64 games will always hold the specialist of spots in my heart, with events such as Hero's Shade of Twilight Princess and drownded Hyrule of Wind Waker surrounding them. Each with its own story but emotionally attaching and at points devastatingly rough between each separate story and adventure. This series is spectacular! I see the Link I grew up with as a child, the events and aftermath as he was forced to adulthood, finding his own path of self-reflection and their friend. To being an Adult now and getting to see a side of our Hero never shown to us viewers/fans after Majora's Mask. Seeing the emotional burden and hardship he's been suffering through, especially mentally. Only connects those of us in a similar manner from adolescence to adulthood, to understand and connect with our Hero of Time we knew and know still. You've done amazing work capturing this essence! As much as I love it and strive to see more, remember much like the growing hero....you're only human and can only tackle so much at one time. Take said time to do what you must, both away from the project and within it. Create or alter whatever elements you feel can be improved or added in for greater effect or in your eyes a better experience you wish to push forward. Fear not about the time of and between releases, lend credence to the quality of effort and time you deem important. Look forward to Episode 5 and best of luck towards your work and general well-being.

I love this so much! The parallels between the two were teased wonderfully and I like how this played out. It’s interesting that the lights between the two are varying in their luminosity. I really feel bad for both of them that they both had to face the “chosen one” fates. I don’t really play the Zelda games, I’ve always just been allured by the stories with them (both official and fan), but I think this gives a beautiful and very deeper meaning to the fates between Link and Ganondorf in the triangle of fates the two of them are a part of. It’s okay that you took a step back to look at your work, and decide that there were parts you wanted to improve. Sure, it means a longer wait, but this teaser brings up even more hype for the great things you’re going to do. You’re also a busy person, who has your own life outside of these animations. Remember it’s okay to take a breather, take a break. You’re doing great work. I’m excited to also see what your film will end up being, and I hope all goes well for you

Woooo! I love the idea that Ganondorf is just as burdened as Link is by the curse. He didn’t choose to be the champion of Demise, nor did the Gerudo tribe choose to be the race to bear that reincarnation. Obviously Zelda knows what she’ll get each reincarnation because she’s always born into the royal family, but Link and Ganondorf or more kinda thrown in at random.

This is a perfect question for them both... Ganon seems to always be himself reborn and reborn and reborn, but this is the first time he was born as Ganondorf. I can't be the only one that felt sorry for his pain at the end of Windwaker. I don't say he's justified, but it REALLY makes you understand him much better. And Link, while he knows it's the right thing, doesn't get the luxury of remembering his past lives, his past fights, the reason why he must be the one to step up. Each new Link, especially the ones with longer journey's like Hero of Time (this Link) and especially Hero of Legend (LttP, Awakening, Oracles games) have to have that break down moment of "Why me?" Fantastic series by the way, I use to love watching fan videos of Zelda on NewGrounds, and this really takes me back to those days. Thank you

I can't wait! It's stuff like this that really draws you in, there's a whole lot in this series, and I love it! It's definitely gonna be interesting, seeing how Ganondorf and Link interact with each other, seeing as they both have the same ties, and feel the same emotion to an extent. This might just be one of my favorite interpretation of the nuances of Ganondorf's character--we rarely stop to consider his personal circumstances that may have led to him coveting the Triforce. The closest glimpse we get is in Wind Waker, where his motivations actually seem to humanize him somewhat.
